I ain't drooling, I'll, more than likely, never own one. I have a Holy Grail Harley, Blessed to have that! But if I lived within an hour or 2 from MaxCustody, I'd bring the beer, bust my ***, get greasy as all get out, just to help the cause. He'd prolly get sick of lookin at me! Back in the old days we'd work on them cars 5, 6, 7 days a week Man, a WOT ride, of course, after completing, would be highly appreciated though!
This is awesome!

Bagging, tagging, and photographing EVERYTHING is a must in this situation. Any one of us would be thrilled to have a chance to lend a hand on this. Please keep us updated as you can.
Also, I would strongly suggest that you get insurance on this car, if you have not already done so. I expect that you turned an awful lot of heads while transporting it down to your home, word travels fast as you no doubt are aware given your profession.
Cars like that draw a tremendous amount of attention, not all of it is good.
Yes will do! Lots of thumbs up driving home, pretty cool! Appreciate the info:thumbsup:

@replicaracer43 is in North Carolina I believe and could be a valuable resource for you. Hopefully he chimes in here.

Thanks for the kind words! And I would DEFINITELY love to help on that build, it's a unbelievably cool story and car!
Thank you @TT5.9mag! Sean and I talked for an hour on the phone. I truly appreciate all the help and information all of you have provided.

Sean (@replicaracer43) is going to take this project and engine build on. I am going to load the car on the trailer and go to North Carolina. I am going to be involved and learn as much as I can.

I am so excited! I am going to document everything, more to come....................

So cooooool. I would pull the plugs and squirt some oil in there and put the plugs back.I would be tempted to turn it over at the crankshaft bolt but that's just me.You are doing the right thing tearing it down after 45 years of sitting. I also would keep what green is on the hood (left and right) and Satin Black the center and scoop. Welcome to the site! You will learn so much from all the great people here.
Oh, and keep the pictures coming. We love pictures.
Thank you! You don't think replacing the hood would be good?

Heck yeah! Sean is a good dude. It'll be in good hands.

I would not. That thing is dead nuts period correct just like the rest of it. In the end though, it's your car. Do it how it makes you happy. If it was mine, I'd get a color match for that paint and paint the hood, touch up the rest and put it back just like it was. That thing is a rolling history book. But it'll be cool however you decide.

Life doesn't get any better than that!! All my Father in Law might leave me is his debt!!

Wash it, get it running and enjoy it. DO NOT "restore" a thing!

It would be tough "for me" not to at least finish out the hood......but I agree it'll be cool either way. How can it not? lol

Ya the hood could get blended in. Probably why pops parked it, under hood fire by the looks of it.

Something to consider.

Rowdy race parts 40 years ago aren't so rowdy today. People drive all the time with combinations that would have been unheard of in the 80's.

Tunnel ram, dominators, mag in a hemi. What's not to like. The cool can with that "safety first" rubber hose laying in behind that alternator. The days when stuff got done and the first thing was to get it running and rolling. Tech would "LOVE" that hose routing and material today. :)

Get the mechanicals where it will stop and steer and go from there.

Sean is a good dude and sharp at what he does. Just tell him how much you like watching UTG on youtube, you'll get along JUST FINE. @replicaracer43
:)

Awesome car.

Interesting, to hear. I was thinking to replace the hood since so much paint missing and plain white scoop??

This is great news. I have no doubt you’ll learn a bunch and he will do a fantastic job. Please both of you, document what you find and the changes you make. I can’t wait.

Like Scott said, this will NOT be a "restoration" it's going to be more of go through the engine, transmission, brakes/suspension ect, make everything thing safe, and fresh. Put it back to its somewhat "day 2" status. This car cannot be duplicated by any amount of money, and I cannot wait to be part of it!
