70 dart 470 ci drag car build.

I got a swing out set for my door bar when I got home from work and installed it.
I was thinking ahead and it's a pain in the *** to get in this car , I don't need to waste energy when it's hot out climbing into my car.
Yesterday I did some extra epoxy work inside the plenum, just gotta sand it down, today also I resurfaced an additional .015 to get my flange sitting flat on the heads.

I ported my heads today. The new port is what I said previously, 2.500 height, 1.300 widths.
I think they turned out pretty nice for just rough sizing, raised the roof .100 ish and blended into bowls, reshaped the wings to face center of the bores.
Sand paper cartridges 40 grit and some burr finish on the floors and bowls coming tomorrow.

Brought my stuff home to mock everything up.
Ports line up very nicely from what I can see and I have no gaps between the runners and the gasket/ intake face of the head.
This should be pretty good, I just need to finish up the intake and I should have it welded up by Monday evening.

Welding???? What happened to the splash zone fix?

Intake basically done with porting, going home to weld the top back on after inspection & cleaning .
Shaped the epoxy, radius done, burr finished what was left of the aluminum.

I got the lid mostly welded on, what I learned recently is the frequency hertz can cranked way up, it leaves a colder penetration so the aluminum builds up without overheating.
So I am going to finish the big 1/8 gap stuff tomorrow then lower the frequency and get it nice , clean and properly welded.

F it, I welded the rest. I was nice and cool so I finished.
Hardly any discoloration of the epoxy, so I'm confident it's going to stick & I'm pretty confident this engine is going to be real good for a stock block standard rocker headed engine.

Instead of installing the Calvert racing shocks I bought the best shocks I couldn't afford.
Viking crusaders, they're for elevated hp levels.
Also since I had to sign for the package I started trying to get my seat more permanently mounted but it's a pita because I didn't do a great job leveling the floor but I'll get it figured out.
Zoom in you can see I have some work to do.
