Yes, place ALL orders thru Rick, he helped me with an online order and straightened it out.
If a part is back ordered and you don't know when it will arrive just tell customers you do not know. Thats how Doctor Diff does it; he either gives an estimate of when a part might be back in stock or he will flat out tell you he does not know. Zero bullshit. That way customers know the actual real status instead of getting jerked around strung along like the original poster described.
Laysons needs to get a clue and manage expectations. Don't jerk customers around and say 3 more weeks. Then a month goes by and some other bull **** story to get them off your back for a couple more weeks. I thought Laysons stopped these bad practices years back but apparently not.
So what?I'm just glad there's a place to order Mopar reproduction parts, I've ordered a few times, sometimes they have it in stock, sometimes they don't.
It's a hobby to me, so I have no problem waiting.
They didn't charge my card until the backorder shipped.
The day will come when nothing will be available for old cars or totally unaffordable, what will you do then.
This is an issue I cannot address.
I am not the one who deals with the manufacturers and/or suppliers here at Layson's. I have no control over purchase orders or manufacturing invoices.
While we do take orders for parts "in production", you will also notice that you're card has NOT been charged. Billing takes place when I can package the parts, do a shipping quote, and process shipping labels.
This ^^^^^. If you call Rick, he'll be straight up with you. Has always done me right. I won't buy from them otherwise.Yes, place ALL orders thru Rick, he helped me with an online order and straightened it out.
Agreed... Like I said earlier, the past history has kept me away, but Rick seems to do what he can, if I were to order from Layson's it would be through Rick... He doesn't own the business & apparently isn't allowed to involve himself in other sales reps work.. So in this case he can't help... Which sucks.... Dave needs more people like Rick, and less like himself... Shady......This ^^^^^. If you call Rick, he'll be straight up with you. Has always done me right. I won't buy from them otherwise.
Most of that is Laysons didn't pay tribute to the suddenly super-aggressive, super-greedy whatever-they-were-at-the-time(Daimler-Chrysler?), who went after everybody & anything that the wind would whisper a hint of 'Mopar/Chrysler/Dodge/Plymouth/any-model-ever-built'.....and sue for brand/trademark infringement w/o license.......Interesting. Do tell more.
Summit actually does the same thing. They won't charge a card until the item ships if it's something they don't have in stock. However, they send updates along the way like "Your junk ain't here yet, would you like to wait or cancel?" At least you hear something.I think they think it's alright because they don't actually charge you but in return they just string people along. It's funny how he as a vendor can make some lazy comment then disappear. but, it looks like it should be expected. It seams I missed the big red flags along the way for how business is being practiced by some in the industry. Thanks for those with similar situation and I believe that if it was in stock that I would be shipped but the continuous lying is what really gets me. Like a few have hinted too, honest goes a long way.
You ain't kiddin. Plus, he's SO meticulous about everything. He didn't let me place my order for axles until he was dang sure of all the measurements. After we confirmed everything and I placed the order, they were here in less than a week. The way Doctor Diff does it is if something is out of stock he won't take orders for it. But you can sign up to be emailed when its back in stock. Once you get the email you go to his web site, pay, it ships right away. Thats how he does it. Non that Laysons type bullshit.....
