Thanks to Laysons for wasting the last 3 months of my time and passing over opportunities to buy what I needed "used" and for countless and pointless conversations. They claim to sell items on their website 'early a body floor patch panels" but when you call 3 weeks after placing your order and you get "oh, yeah they're in a truck on the way bak from the factory and we will get them sorted and have them out in 2 weeks". Call 3 weeks later and get a completely different story " we just getting back from ____________ and we need to get caught up on email and then it should be about 2 weeks. Call back a month later and get " oh, we are just getting back from SEMA and we need to catch up on email and see if the factory has them ready yet". Whoever is the answering the phones is having a hard time figuring out how to keep the lies in order. To me it's simple, IF YOU DONT HAVE A PRODUCT IN YOUR HANDS WHY ARE TAKING ORDERS AND CONTINUOUSLY LYING WITH EVERY PHONE CALL. Feel free to chime in with all the positive stories since they pay to be on this site but id love to hear if anyone has had a similar experience.

Only 18 Google reviews must have 18 employees.

This is an issue I cannot address.

I am not the one who deals with the manufacturers and/or suppliers here at Layson's. I have no control over purchase orders or manufacturing invoices.

While we do take orders for parts "in production", you will also notice that you're card has NOT been charged. Billing takes place when I can package the parts, do a shipping quote, and process shipping labels.

Rick, appreciate your input... It's a shame there are people at Layson's who don't try as hard as you to take care of customer concerns...
I haven't bought anything from Layson's in over twenty years, back in the 90's, & early 2000's the reputation was only buy from Layson's in person when the part is in your hands... Rick's efforts had nearly gotten me thinking they had learned from their past mistakes.... It seems that's not entirely the case....

My last order was 'ship or cancel' for the items not in stock. That's probably the best thing to do if you need particular items now. They are either in stock or not. If not, let the customer know so he can find them somewhere else.

this is how they have been for well over a decade.. people try and warn others but no one seems to listen. i tell people if you must buy from them make sure the part is in your hand before turning any money over.

It's your company, how can you not address it? Why are you and your employees continuing to lie about what's going on? Why make it "available" to purchase if it isn't in your hands or know when it will be? If you don't know, say you don't know. This response is exactly why I wouldn't put a dime into this company.

If a part is back ordered and you don't know when it will arrive just tell customers you do not know. Thats how Doctor Diff does it; he either gives an estimate of when a part might be back in stock or he will flat out tell you he does not know. Zero bullshit. That way customers know the actual real status instead of getting jerked around strung along like the original poster described.

Laysons needs to get a clue and manage expectations. Don't jerk customers around and say 3 more weeks. Then a month goes by and some other bull **** story to get them off your back for a couple more weeks. I thought Laysons stopped these bad practices years back but apparently not.

Its not your job, some other department, not going to lift a finger and do anything? Yet you represent the company here on the forum? We have a forum member getting the run around getting jerked around over long period of time different bull **** story every time he calls? No apologies, no we will try to do better, no let me see if I can get an estimated ship date, no let me try to help? Nothing? Really???

I'm just glad there's a place to order Mopar reproduction parts, I've ordered a few times, sometimes they have it in stock, sometimes they don't.
It's a hobby to me, so I have no problem waiting.
They didn't charge my card until the backorder shipped.
The day will come when nothing will be available for old cars or totally unaffordable, what will you do then.

Just Sayin.... :)

Trust me, if it wasn't for the fact that its for an early A I would have gone elsewhere.

I just wish suppliers would be up front about an item's availability. Is it in stock? If not expected eta? I realize some websites are not that sophisticated but an honest email after the order would suffice. I've had a few vendors state 'back order with no eta' and then tell me they do expect it and that the part is not nla only to see it still not in stock a year or two later.

Dave at Layson's did email me back about a part that I was after and was very honest about the supply issues and unknown delivery time.

Yep, they would get a lot further just being up front. I can handle the truth.

I'm dealing with the exact same issue with Mopar Mall. Ordered an instrument circuit board for my 66. One day later it shows shipped. For three weeks, tracking has shown "waiting on pickup". If they are willing to lie about that, what else are they willing to lie about?

Wow diggin 17 years back into the trash barrel to do same to a vendor. MANY reproduction vendors we deal with daily are selling non-Chrysler "blessed" parts. Look at all your lenses you buy... part number is missing on many, while everything else is spot on...

Rick is just an employee, not the owner !

I've also had issues in the distant past. But absolutely zero issues when dealing with Rick. He tells you whether in stock and what the story is. I for one am grateful for the parts Laysons has reproduced. The company is a plus for the Mopar hobby IMO.

On a backorder, does the buyer have the opportunity to decline before charged/shipped?
