I ran this Crane grind in a 76 440 equipped Dodge W150. 906 heads low compression pistons and a steel shim head gasket, with cheap headers.Sounds like the 6400 cam is the way to go.
Any experience with the summit carbs? Street demon? Again the summit carbs are cheap, I believe a 750 is sufficient.
Pulled a Rochester quadrajet off an early Pontiac 455 at pick and pull. 14 MPG freeway and it would lay a 3' patch (30" tires) shifting into second from a dead stop in drive at full throttle. Stock Torque converter and an increased band apply lever in the otherwise stock 727.

FWIW, I would call Delta Cams in Wa. and ask him what he recommends, and as always Schneider Cams in Ca. Howards Hydraulic lifters or reface some stock ones...
