I can tell you that the remote mirror was not standard at the time I ordered my car.
Silly question: I'm assuming your car has the non-remote mirror? If so one of the first I have come across! It is a rare duck indeed!

Yes, it is the Standard manual adjust mirror. If there is a code on the fender tag, It was an ordered, extra cost option.

I may have to file to get a card from the Chrysler historical for Dart, I'm intrigued between the data that is printed and what actually rolled down the assembly line.
 
Technically the 383 cars were GTS package even though the VIN was the same (first four characters). I have also seen a 270 with the wide rocker molding. It also the GT lipped wheel opening molding. 383 was not available in a GT badged Dart.

The 383 became available in February of 1967 in the GT Only and was badged as the GTS. And, Yes the GT badging remained on the Grill, Trunk Panel and Doors.

Correct. I was asking for a clarification since the statement "383 was not available in a GT badged Dart." is not correct, by definition all 1967 383 Dart were LP23 or LP27.

Dart GT's with GTS fender badging. I'm assuming the poster simply transposed 270/GT thinking one thing and typing another. I find myself doing the same thing time to time.

Here is Page 54 for the Dart 270.

It shows the "remote" scratched out and replaced with "standard" by the dealer.

There is another glaring (to me) error on this page in the "New Side" paragraph.

""Dart 270" is placed on the rear fender". This was Never the case as far as I am aware..

Good morning! Some poor guys parts wanted thread got out of control (my fault so I thought I'd start compiling here.)
This is a discussion of the various packages available for the 1967 Dart mostly in regards to various trim. Some of this is confusing no doubt by dealer ability to add or remove some items at will but I'm trying to narrow down most of the discussion into just packages.

For reference here is the basic packages available.

2-dr coupe (base) (VIN LL21)
4-dr coupe (base) (VIN LL41)

These are the Dart models with frames around the windows, taller windshield and backglass and generally the stripper vehicles.

270 4-dr (also taller glass) (VIN LH41)
270 Hard top (VIN LH23)
270 Hart top (special equipment package) (VIN LH23)
GT Hard top (VIN LP23)
GT Convertible (VIN LP27)

I'm focusing on the LH23 packages because there is some confusion regarding the 270 H/T because there was a number of them that were "special equipment trim packages" which instead of having thin rocker spears on both sides (part number 2807906 x 2) they came equipped with the GT H/T & GT convertible rocker trim (part number 2807632 and 2807633 R&L)

For documentation I have attached the factory parts book listing which clearly shows both the thin spears for "270" and GT rocker trim for "270 special equipment package" and a vintage crash book showing some models also were equipped with the GT rocker trim. I have owned 2 of these vehicles and will post pictures of the build tags and breakdowns below.

One was sold new in California and the other was sold new in Mississippi. The California one also had "clean air package" option since it was sold there and tint windshield, both had AM radios.

Some notes:

1) I'm deliberate excluding vehicles that had trim added or removed by dealer order, these are not packages. The books clearly indicate this was a package and I'm trying to hunt down the sales literature that indicates
They also had an economy Dart model below the 270. I am guessing they were available in 2 door post or 4 door sedan only. In 68 they had them listed this way as shown below. The LL's were just Darts, The LH's were the 270's and the LP's were the GT's. The same for 66 so I imagine 67 would be the same. L, M, amd H designations were used throughout those years.

1) The Dodge Data Book scan on the Hamtramck shows remote mirror as standard on all models (see attached). I'm going to ASSUME then that this was changed at some point from standard to optional item.

Edit: The scan on the website also shows the standard equipment page "manual outside mirror" so the book even contradicts itself.

Would be great to see a dealer notice of this but odds of that are pretty slim at this point in the program.

2) Agreed never the case in my experience, though I think some of the prior years did have something and no doubt it was dropped to save a buck.

Agreed, 100%! I'm not trying to denigrate anyone's pride and joy. Just chasing down an odd notation about the special trim package and how Dodge made some of the vehicles back in the day.

And in the process come across some very cool vehicles such as your own. It is the first 274-4 270 I can recall seeing and having a manual trans even cooler. The original owner as well? Wild!

I have edited the post with the scans from the Data Book, it even contradicts itself showing standard on a few pages and "manual outside mirror" on another page.

Yes Sir... Currently at 106,*** miles.... This production number included both the 4 door and 2 door hardtop 270's.

Actually rarer than the 383 cars....

Even rare are the Dart 270 273 2bbl 4 speed cars... 108 built....

I can not prove it, But, I believe most if not all were ordered and built for One buyer. That being Hertz Rent a Car.

I say that because one of my best friends (now deceased) bought his 1967 Dart 270 273 2bbl 4 Speed from the local Hertz in 1969. Then years later I bought it from him. This was the era of Hertz buying and renting sporty V8 4 speed cars of all brands....

And I part that car out before finding out the production numbers... Still have a few of those parts around.....

The donor vehicle back in the day for my Dart was a emerald green 1969 Dart GT with 318-2bbl 4-speed with black interior. It must have been a sharp vehicle when it was new, you can see the color via the floor hump that was brazed in my '67. Sadly it was rotted out, I think I purchased it for $100-$150 which was typical back then. The steering wheel may or may not have been from the same car, I suspect it was along with the steering column.

Front k-frame and suspension with 10" brakes, 3.23 8 3/4, floor hump, carpet, radiator, motor, transmission, pedals, black door panels and back seat were all transferred over.
