Hello all. You all remember Memike's A-body story and how we all came together to get him Victoria. Awesome story right, well another member (JohnnyDart) and I have come up with a plan to get a car for a fellow FABO member who lost his ride last year in a terrible drunk driving accident. It was a beautiful car and everyone at the local cars shows loved it. It was his pride and joy. I'm sure many of you are familiar with his story.

We are trying to keep this quiet and we already have $500 pledged towards a clean 1970 Plymouth Duster donor car to replace the body of the one that was lost. The goal is $1500.00 for the car and we would like to present it to him once we have reached our goal.

Even giving just $1.00..... it will add up fast!
It is NOT an insult.
And if givin as a GIFT through Pay-Pal.... No fees.

To me it's a Karma thing..... giving is returned 10 fold I think.
And the Members.... no... Family on FABO have bailed me out once already and looks like again as I write this!!!
The hardest freakin' part of all this has been accepting help instead of giving.
I have a VERY hard time with that I do!
So I always kick at least a buck or two to any Member that needs a hand!

Yup I know but right now Im forwarding all my parts sales money to my wife so we can eat. Hard to live off disability....ignore this guys.Dont let me ruin a thread thats intended to help another member. sorry folks...
 
Thanks guys. I'd like to keep this as a donation/fund raiser.

I'd like to post my PayPal account email but this is an open forum and would prefer not to get spammed by internet e-mail trolls. Therefore, I think a good option would be setup a separate Paypal account with an email that I'll never really use and then delete the account when the fund raiser is over. That may make things a bit easier. A friendly PM would work out well too so I can also track who's in on the Duster.

FABO is an awesome place and it has a real sense of community that you don't see that often these days. Any generosity whether it be $$$ or verbal well wishes are great supports to our membership here at FABO. Once again, Johnny and I really appreciate the help.

I will post the PayPal Account info once it is setup and you can look for it on the 1st post of this thread.

Alright,here we go !!!!!!!!

Dave and I got this thing up and running.We are both in for $250.00 each.
That is 1/3 of the way there.When I first heard of this incident,the first thing that came to my mind (other than everyone was ok)was we need to help this person out.I met this individual a couple of years ago,and let me tell you,he is the nicest person you will ever meet.I cant think of anyone who deserves this gift as much as him.
We as a community can give this person a head start,and help him recover from a truly traumatic experience.
I know times are tough right now,even I am unemployed right now. But I truely believe in what goes around comes around.
This isnt a question of if we will raise the $1500.00,it is a question of when.
I have great faith in this site !!!!
No amount is to small,lets all get this done.

Looking forward to the day when we deliver this car,and closing another great A-bodies story !!

Just a heads up, didnt see it mentioned here. If you use paypal and pay with your credit card/debit card. They still apply a percentage fee regardless of if its set as a personal gift.
 
If any of the members here don't think a gift like this can change a life real fast Just ask me, I was on the receiving end of the great folks here and I found out real fast it's harder to receive than to give.
MAny folks all over the world jumped in and handed me Victoria and life has been like it has never ever been before, Yall know who you are, and its been a couple years.
I hope to see this happen, But I must say it was a new hard experience for me to except what was going on by folks here I have never met.
I hope I have made everyone proud
