Agree with fstfish66... that trans is a bit scary for my taste, I have heard a bunch of negative items about its sturdiness. Yours is used...
Plus with that weight on the front end I would look into rebuilding the front-end with a Firm Feel kit or similar.

If you ordered the metal one, it will need some fabrication to work. It's close but not quite there. I just finished mine.
This is a resto mod? Could you show us some more of the build/ideas for it?

The rebuilt trans alone is $795 for the 23 spline and $1795 for the 18 spline.
He put together an entire package for us as were changing over from a 904.

You can never have enough Cubic Inches! I stroked my 360, ran some cleaned up, ported edelbrock alum. heads (they were junk out of the box). And a wimpy little weiand manifold.
Came off the Dyno last week with 468hp and 488 tourqe.
Tested a 650 all the way up to a 950 Holley and Quick Fuel...

Has anyone used coil over's in the front of an early A-Body to replace the torsion bars?
Do they work? If so did you have to re-enforce the shock mount up above?
