my 1973 Dart Sport rebuild

-
My son painted the trunk lid and the two doors and I picked them up and brought them home last night. Due to the bad weather we have had, I had to use the van to get them. He got the body lines perfect on these. I think he done a great job. Not bad for a 21 year old if I must say.

thanks guys. The upholstery shop just delivered my dash pad awhile ago. He also wanted to know how we wanted to finish up the seats. He has the seat bottoms done but the back is being done a little different. Custom a little if you will. they will be back home in a week or two. Here is the dash pad.

we are working on sitting the 4 speed up under the car and making sure where to cut the floor for the tunnel to go. also working on finishing the body lines on the quarters getting ready for primer. If the weather holds out end of next week, the shell will be in color. have to trailer it in good dry weather. pics to come.

well, we mounted the tranny up in place and it looks good. problem is we put it in gear and the car wouldn't move. I guess I will have to take it out and get it looked at. maybe it isn't any good. LOL. Got the tunnel cut out and welded in place. just have to put some seam sealer on it and prime it. didn't take a pic of it welded in. man we were tired today.

WOW, Some excellent work happening here. Love the color, can't wait to see this one finished.

we just finished up whats left to do to get this in primer. Taped it up and just have to wipe it down good and shoot some of it in epoxy primer and then the rest of the car in high build primer. That is being done as tonight. All we have to do is block the high build, shoot it again in primer and it will be ready for color. It has to be painted and back home by the 21st because my son is having surgery on the 24th and he will be down 2 weeks. I am going to have to have something to do on this car during that time or we may not get it ready by May 3rd. The new chrome bumpers will be back here on Monday. I just ordered the fat mat for the inside and got the door reinforcement brackets for the door handles in today. The tranny goes in the shop on Monday. Things are starting to get done again.

Now that you're really familiar with the Dart Sport, I'll bring mine down and you can go through it. :-D

Looking good Bill, I can't wait to see it complete.

here it is just shot in high build primer. It isn't even dry yet. It looks real close. will not have to block a whole lot. looks great.

Primer looks great, that car is going to be bright.
Who re-chromed the bumpers they look really nice.

Tri City Plating in Elizabethton, Tn. They have done the bumpers on both cars. They had a set in stock and sent these back the day they received my cores.
