Hi guys, my fridge somehow got turned up to high in my camper and my eggs froze. Are the any good now or do I just toss them? Thanks. Kim

It's fine to eat eggs that have been frozen. I get a couple now and then at the end of the carton closest to the back of the fridge I just eat em.

Provided they were good to begin with.

On a side note, I eat a lot of eggs, mostly hard boiled. I was boilin' about 10 of them the other night AND FORGOT and had them going for a 1/2 hour or more. Water was getting "down" a bit too!!! Anyhow I tried them, and though "not the best" they ARE perfectly eatable!!

I have no advise on frozen, tho, never done that!!

Frozen is fine. Scrambled is best once an egg is frozen. When you see mini omelets in hotel breakfast buffets, they are purchased frozen…

Be glad you didn't let the water completely boil out!
My dad did that years ago. He forgot he left some eggs boiling on the stove and left for work. The water completely boiled out and the eggs exploded.
The kitchen around the stove was a mess and the house smelled terrible for about a week!

Kitty has always said eggs are over and done if they freeze. She's been cookin a long dang time.

We freeze eggs all the time, although we crack em and never freeze in the shell.
The chickens make eggs faster than we use them or can give away.
They're fine if you use them for things like batter or cakes, etc.
They just don't fry well so over easy isn't happening. They do scramble okay though.
If any of them are cracked, toss em.
For no more than what a dozen eggs cost, it isn't worth getting sick.

Yet another annoying story from the old days

"Sometime" ?? late 80's? One weekend night I was watchin' a movie and fixed a snack of something and eggs. These were in the fridge, already boiled. I cut em in half and nuked em in the microwave. Got some butter, salt, walked out to the front room. Got all sat down. They've been out of the microwave AT LEAST a minute. Got up, went and got the pepper and back. Sat down, cut out a bite and spooned it in. Just as I got it partway into my mouth, part of the white exploded, cut my lip, and forced pepper and salt into the cut. THAT DAMN THING HURT for days!!!

Freezing eggs might change the taste, texture, and make them unpalatable, I don't know, but that is certainly not going to make them dangerous to eat.

I did boil some dry when I went down to Austin to visit my old buddy, RIP. I wanted some eggs "over the week" and we'd gone shopping so I bought some extra. Back to his place and on the range. We got to BS'n and in the next room and next thing you know..........bone dry. Gary just heaved them all out onto the lawn and sure enough, the birds and squirrels or whatever made quick work of them. In a day or so they were all gone.

DAMMIT MAN!

I have always heard it's ok to freeze eggs just not in the shell for obvious reasons, so I would say they would be ok.

They’ll be fine. We “water glass” fresh eggs in lime water. Good for several years after that. They have to be clean and can’t be washed, as the “bloom” on them from the hen protects them

I spent 15 years in the foodservice industry. Restaurants have used frozen raw egg products for years and years and years. The flavor won't be affected, but as mentioned before, they'd be best scrambled or used in other recipes.

yup. same thing happened to me one day, only mind didnt explode untill i bit into it...felt like i took a bite out of a claymore

ever since then, i reheat my boiled eggs by dropping them in a coffee cup full of boiling water for a few minutes

We used to pull them out of a torpedo tube after a month and eat them, you’ll be fine

Should see how eggs are sold in other parts of the world. They are not found in the coolers like here, but on the dry goods shelves like cereal…
