What Are You Doing To/With Your Car Today?

Took a drive to a morning car meet about 80 miles round trip.

Saw FABO member Richard Sweet out there and his van he’s owned since 1968!

Well I should have a assembled engine right now but.... something wasn't sitting right in my head when I found a micrometer wasn't zero'd on the standard. So I pulled the rods and pistons out to check bearing clearance for the connecting rods,
I have a new set of .001 thicker bearings on the way.
Yesterday I spent a few hours cleaning up the garage and making it better for assembly, it's clean and have a open bench .
Here's a pic of where I was lol

Went on a drive up to Summerhaven on Mt. Lemmon. Started at around 2500 feet and climbed up to 8000 feet! Beautiful drive and weather.

I bet that was an awesome drive!

I was TDY at Davis-Monthan AFB in the late 80's during the summer. At the time they had the ski lift open for a ride to the top, jump off and look around, then get back on the lift for a ride down. It was an unbelievable view!!

I couldn't do it now with my agoraphobia and anxiety....

Been doing some chemical rust dissolving for a two barrel intake and exhaust manifold. Exhaust manifold turned out pretty good!

Yay!

I did have that stupid EGR valve break off when I tried to remove it. If anyone has any pointers for getting that out, short of drilling up to the next size (1/2" NPT, I think), I'd be mighty grateful.

Then, I cleaned up the exhaust manifold which also at first looked good.

But then I found a crack. :(

Any pointers on how to make that fix successful would also be welcomed.

Tried to do cold start tuning this weekend:

Found in very cold weather I don't have an RPM signal. Unfortunately doing an accurate diagnosis in that sort of weather is a pain. I ordered a new distributor pick up coil today to see if that solves the issue.

I haven't even been in my garage or shop, since before Christmas. So....nothing.

Yesterday I gave my grandson a ride to his work at the Honda dealership.
Then when I left I did a burnout the length of the dealership lot on the road.

It was almost 60 degrees here last weekend, so we did a power steering/air conditioning delete on my Duster. Actually, we're pulling the whole engine and got it almost completely disconnected.

Cleaned some stuff, and removed some stuff to clean.
Removed some stuff off the top of car. So wife has a nice clean spot to sort and fold clothes.
Hazard or benefit of being right next to washer and dryer.
Wife's happy, harms nothing since car is well protected.
It's a Moving Banket car cover ontop the Dust Stop car cover.
