The cars have two other mirrors whats the problem? j/k
I've help guide owners parking their cars at a few car shows. I have found that about 95% of guys backing up don't use any of their mirrors and can't back up straight. I think the two are related.
I guess I've had this dart for at least five years now. I never really liked vinyl tops but this Dart was to good to pass up at the time. Since I bought the Dart the whole vinyl top thing has grown on me and not only on this car.
I'm going to have to make a decision here if I'm going to put...
Peeled off the vinyl top on the old Dart today. No soft spots in the metal but there is a few areas where there is some pitting. Any tips on dealing with this? I'm thinking about cleaning the **** out of it along with maybe a quick light sand blasting of the area. Then apply some rust...
The Vin# on the dash does not match the fender tag, core support or the trunk stamping. All the numbers above are shipping/sales order numbers except the vin# on the dash.
The engine and trans should be stamped with the last 5 or 6 numbers of the vin# though.
Looks awesome!
Feel good to get out there and work on the car?
For me it's much easier to not do it and sit by the computer, buy parts or watch TV. I struggle with getting out in the garage myself. The first day just sucks trying to find **** and getting into a rhythm. After that it...
That is so cool on so many levels and on the ground too!
If you asked what it was worth most would say they saw one sell on ebay last week for $5,000 just like it.
The Camaro is tastefully done, I like it. I think the same could be done with many Mopar "A" bodies but you don't see it.
Not sure of the reason why. My guess is that spending the time and money for such a modification is more wisely spent of a car that can be sold for more money than a Mopar...
Yeah I found that in another post about it tucking in. In that same post it said that lip tucked in where the lock strip stopped along the bottom. I'm not even seeing a lock strip like was shown in that post. Another member said he just cut it off. I'm all for doing it right. Just wondering if...
The lower stainless trim on my windshield for a 72 Dart, having trouble getting it on. It was off when I brought the car home. I'm assuming new gasket was installed. My question is on the lower edge only of the rubber gasket it has a rubber lip. Seems like maybe in needs to be trimmed off. I...
Me personally not a big fan of buying a project and taking it all apart. I prefer to get it running driving and mechanically sound first.
There are some guys here that have the funds and skills to pull off a project of that size. However I see way to many guys start out this way then life...
Found and bought the grill pieces I needed.
Thanks to forum member 2manymopars was able to meet up with him right here in town and buy the parts. Awesome guy to deal with, Thanks again Duane!
I'm wanting to switch a 72 Dart over to 70-71 grill. I have the center section but looking for the two outer sections that go around each headlight. Prefer nice driver quality items. Is this swap a simple bolt in swap or is there anything else I might need? PM details on grille end pieces...
X2 I'm not sure media blasting of any type will effectively remove the undercoating. Might want to get some sort of agreement before work takes place limiting your out of pocket cost if it doesn't work.
I thinking soda blasting is more expensive than other media blasting. The one thing I like...
I think blue would be an easy sell. The original color is love it or hate it as was said above.
I don't see any additional value on a repaint for this car. If you want to break even or make money just keep it simple.
Are all the body panels, hoods, bumpers, and grills pretty much interchangeable?
I see people listing hoods for example for a 70 and 71 they usually don't mention 72 but at a glance they look like they would interchange?
Well the blacked tapped pictures looks bad color wise.
The other painted picture with the grill installed doesn't look to bad with the color of your car. Be interesting to see how it looks when it all comes together with wheels installed. I might be a believer:D
No! Body should be same as long as they have the same number of doors. Brakes would probably be smaller on a 6 car and the trans is different on a 6 car vs a V8 car.
Thats nice to have those pictures for reference. What remains of the vinyl top on my 66 Barracuda. The A pilliars has a seam towards the top I will try and add a picture when I get home. You can kind of see it circled in read in the picture below
The top seams on my 68 Dart are 38". Down by the lower rear window trim the seams match the body lines like at 46.5".
My top was replaced by the prior owner but looks like it could be factory.
I seen a original 70 grille and a repop sharktooth in the classifieds here in the last week.
They could be gone now if the posters didn't read the rules.
Can't go wrong with a any of the factory blue colors of that year. I kind of like that dark metalic green from that year too. White seems kind of boring but it really looks nice when it's new and done nice.
Good luck hard choice.
