Does any body know if a K& N push in breather will fit in the excisting hole in a Mopar Performance valve cover. I beleive its a 1 1/4 grommet but not sure.
Or do I have to pull off valve covers and redrill ???
Thanks , Bob
Do any of you guys have any pics of your pcv valve set up, I know we have to do do some thing , but it still has to look good too. My valve covers and air cleaner are Mopar proformance and not sure if they are set up for any thing else,
Thanks , Bob
Yesterday we boosted up the RPMs to 6000 on our 360, we took it out for a run and now its got a lot of oil all over the engine and compartment. We have a breather cap on the one valve cover and never had this problem before , could it be that since the engine is working at higher RPMs that it...
Mullinax you Da man !!! oil leak gone. I pulled off the filter and inspected the oil filter mounting plate, mine was the type with the 3/8 hole in it. I put an extension in and gave it at least 4 good turns Wow I cant beleive some thing so simple took me so long to fix. I guess you never get...
Mullinax,
Actually I did but I thought you were talking about a 90 degree adapter plate, but now that I go back and read it again it makes sense. So off comes the filter again and we will see.
Thanks , Bob
OK GUYS,
THE DAMN THING IS LEAKING AGAIN
Is there a plate between the filter and engine block because thats where it looks like the oil is coming from. The new filter is tight and I didn't see any oil after the initail start up but it has aconstant drip almost spray from the filter...
Well, we finally got around to changing the oil/filter and it was the filter that was leaking,it was tight but still leaked around the seal. We put on a K&N filter the short one and no leaks so far. The K&N filter was about 3 times the cost of the Fram but I guess you get what you pay for. I was...
OK I did all that and even doubled up the gasket only to find out that it's not coming from there after all at least not all of it . I put it on stands and started up the engine and crawled under neath and I really think it is coming from the oil filter . I have to change the oil and filter...
Hey Guys,
We got a pretty big oil leak between the valve cover and intake and I'm not sure which is the problem. We have a 360 with an Edelbrock performer intake and Mopar Performance valve covers. I read on here some where that the casting on one of these is the culprit . Has any one else...
If I go with the Holley electric pump do I by pass my manual pump or what is the advantages one way or another ?? In the directions on Summit I see it both ways.----Bob
That was i actually replaced first thinking the same thing, Im just worried now that since my son has now even made things hotter back by the fuel tank by removing the tail pipes the hot fuel thing will get worse. I happened to like the way the car sounded before!!!!
You know I thought about that at first but I checked and it seems that there is plenty of room down by the headers where the fuel line is, But if thats the case what can I do ? I do have a Holley electric pump in the garage .would that help,if I went that route I would have to put a regulator...
We were out driving the Duster last night to a local car meet and noticed that when the engine gets warmed up we lose fuel pressure. The engine only has 260 miles on it. Let me tell you what we have and maybe you guys can tell me whats up. 360 engine , roughly 400 hp ,holley fuel pump 5/16 fuel...
We removed the inspection plate cover ,restarted engine and the noise was gone, engine is still pretty rattly but we haven got it timed yet so I think we are ok for now. more to come...
We finally got my sons 360 started this morning ,first time firing up the rebuilt motor. It started up with out any problems but we have a hell of a noise coming from the flywheel-flexplate area. We shut it down imediately I dont think we installed the flex plate wrong, but what else could it be ?
O.K. Guys here goes,360 engine is finally in engine compartment and bolted down now do we install the headers with the trans out or go ahead and install trans and fight with the headers later. We have heard so many horror stories about installing the headers we thought it might be easier to put...
Which do you guys prefer the stock 7 blade or an after market flex fan.We have the 7 blade steel fan that came off the /225 but were thinking about getting one of the flex fans from Summit just for looks basically.Which will work better at keeping the 360 cool ?
This car was originally an a a/c car.Is there any differance in the heater box and how hard would it be to convert it to a heater only car? The a/c was the first thing removed when we got the car years ago.
Thanks---Bob
We are getting close to the engine swap from the / to the 360 and we havent decided whether or not to keep the heater or by-pass the hoses and get rid of the heater all together. We live in So CAl so you really dont need a heater other to defrost the windows occaisionally.the way it works now...
So my son Took apart the top half of his engine a little to quick and we dont know where this goes, can anyone help up out?
thanks for any help Bob/Bryce
