Stop in for a cup of coffee

We drove thru a major downpour today and 40mph sidewind. So a trucker told me. The wind. Kind of scary for Simone. Not me. Got it under control.

    Problem with reproduction steel wheels

Yes, I can watch the area deflect while torquing. They are wheel vintique. It was one of those things I didn’t pay attention to til I had an issue. The rear is a Strange S60 with screw in 1/2” studs. I’ve thought of having the area built up machined and redrilled but with the visible deflection...

    Problem with reproduction steel wheels

    1) something is not right- measure the angles of the lug nuts vs the rim lug holes. 2) how does the hub fit in the rim. There should be no space. The center hole or hub is supposed to take the weight not the lugs. It is why uni- lug wheels seem to always open up and loosen up. The center hub...

    Problem with reproduction steel wheels

You are not getting tight as the metal around the lug nut area in bending in. I have had problems with trailer wheels like that. Who’s wheels? Wheel Vintiques?

Who's running the same size tires front and rear

I run 5 of the same size in both bias ply and radials. 225/70/14 redline BGF tires, stock wheels and a matching spare. E70-14 redline firestones, stock wheels and a matching spare. It just makes life easier because my old hot rod runs big and smalls and my spare is a compromise for both...

    Ailing engine (Updated after teardown)

Yes. I am using my original one right now, the only problem with it is I can't use the handheld to change my tune up. I have no idea what happened to the second one which was only 10 months old when it died. It was working perfect until I took the top of the engine off to replace the head...

    First Drag strip visit

What a great thread! Must have been '74 or so. First time I went to a track was in south Richmond VA, not the current Dinwiddie/Petersburg track. My current wife, she was my girlfriend then, had money and I built a decent 340 for her 65 Barracuda. We rode up to the track from Newport News VA...

    Magnum and Wiring Swap

I remember seeing that the GM filter/regulator is higher than what a Magnum's fuel pressure is. Your explanation of the fuel being pushed past at low duty cycle makes sense because the exhaust smells rich and economy doesn't seem very good, comparable to the old 318 that was carbed. I know with...

    Carter 4640SA Date Code Question

Why is it wrong? Maybe not assembly line correct to a 69 car, but from what the OP posted. It was produced by Carter for a 69-71 car.
