    Carb tuning, accelerator pumps.

If that was the case, would I see a pressure drop fuel on the top end? I haven't been watching that.

    Carb tuning, accelerator pumps.

Makes sense to me. May try that as well. I don't know what the shooter sizes are right now. I does have 1 30cc and 1 50cc pump. The main issue does seem to be leaving off the start, a moments hesitation, and then its on.

    Carb tuning, accelerator pumps.

Thank you all. I have been jetting the car up by 2s, 3 time and keeps going faster. I will take the play out of the linkage and set it at WOT. Sounds like it also wants a larger nozzle, will try that too.

    Carb tuning, accelerator pumps.

I keep trying to make gains on my car, it's never perfect, right. The next step I want to improve is my car's reaction when the gas is mashed. There is a little bit of lag right now, I want to get rid of it. It's killing my reaction time. So the question: How do you set up your Acc pump cam and...

Guilty, yes I would love to see a "10" with that 360. If not, may have to go stroker.

Finally going back to track after engine upgrade.

Not yet. I have had family matters to deal with. I hope to get it back out in September when it cools down a little.

Never saw it run, but it was an older 70s style, think it had a v8.

Finally going back to track after engine upgrade.

I went. Made 2 passes. There was a wreck between my runs, a Mazda flipped at half track and shut us down for 90 minutes or so. The second pass was still a light one, shifted at 6000. Car ran 11.35 at 117. The car smoked because the back of the intake is leaking oil. Once fixed, I expect with...

Finally going back to track after engine upgrade.

Well it has been about a year now, but finally going to get out to Wild Horse tomorrow night. I upgraded the heads and cam. Was only supposed to take a month or two but life puts up roadblocks. So with parts delays and a divorce, not car related, finally hope to get good results. The upgrade is...

    Roller to flat tappet

Westcoast, Mopar sold the 380HP/360 LA short blocks with the FT .508 cam and regular hydraulic lifters in a roller block, that is what I have been running up to now. Since you have shaft rockers, you are good to go. Toolman, I got my spider, dog bone lifter holders and lifters from...

Eq heads from imm or eddy heads

I running the LA versions on a roller LA block. I am also switching to hydraulic roller cam from comp with Hughes 1.6 rockers. Brian at IMM ported the pinch area of the pushrods and opened the combustion chamber up to 65cc so I can keep using pump gas, the new compression is 10.3 with flat top...

Eq heads from imm or eddy heads

I went with IMM RHS heads because the flows were better and the cost was less than the Eddys. Besides, small blocks are light. The iron heads aren't that heavy, not like big block heads are. Brian did an awesome job on them. Putting the engine in the car now, hope to be on the track soon...

    360 Hydraulic roller lifter dilema.

That's what I have been leaning to. I did PM MRL and he said I can use their lifters with a tight lash. Since the new cam lift isn't too much more than the roller that comes in the 380/360 magnum, it may be doable. The rpm in the traps should be about 6300.

    360 Hydraulic roller lifter dilema.

Thanks Rusty, I sent MRL a PM about them.

    Roller lifters

The blocks are different. The roller block has taller lifter bores and mounting locations for the lifter hold down spider. The factory lifters use a figure 8 holder that the lifters sit in to keep from spinning, the spider holds these down to keep the lifters in. You will need lifters with a tie...

    360 Hydraulic roller lifter dilema.

Hi fellow Mopar heads! I have been running my Demon with the 380/360 LA motor for about 4 years now. It is a roller block with flat tappet cam. Since our Phoenix summers are so hot, I figured it to be the time for upgrades. The previous setup is posted in the 11 second car posts. The car...

    360-508 mopar cam builds

You can get the car light without cutting on it. My ride is all steel, the floors are stock except for mini tubs. Just remove the basics. Going from power steering to manual drops about 45 pounds. Remove the heater box, etc. I did remove the undercoating from the chassis. There is no fiberglass...

    360-508 mopar cam builds

I run the Mopar 380 HP 360 LA short block in my Demon race car. I comes with the 508/292 hydraulic flat tappet cam. The pistons are KB flat tops that are around .060 down in the hole, so the compression is about 9:1, maybe a tad higher. The car is setup to run pump gas, 91 octane. I run the...

I just made a tool to install the harmonic balancer with the engine in the car. I made it out of 3/4 X 16 threaded rod 6 inches long, 3 nuts and 2 washers large enough to cover the hole in the balancer. I welded the end nut to rod, then had to weld 3/4 in washer to a 1 inch washer to make it...

If you like, Schumaker makes mounts for that setup, that is what I run in my Demon, I went from /6 to 360. They bolt right in like factory. Piece of cake.

Another guess my SB 340 et 1/4 mile :)

If your mixture screws are not doing anything, then your carb primaries are open too far, you are idling in the intermediate circtuit instead of the idle circuit. If you flip your carb over, you will notice that the butterflys are at the slot in the barrel instead of the meater screw hole. You...
