    Dart ID help

Going to be looking at a Dart. There is an outside chance that it may be a factory hemi Dart, or maybe a factory big block Dart. (I know, it's probably a slant six car, but you never know til you look.) I don't know what to look for on the car to see if it is any of the above. Can someone give...

    Too cold to work

Too cold to work today (construction). And too cold to work in the garage (my space heater will take the edge off if its not too bad, but single digit temps are too much for it). Sooooooo, the new bathroom floor got put in. I hate working on bathrooms because they are always a PITA...

    Blower prep carbs

I know there are companies that will prep your carbs for forced induction. What I don't know is what do they do to them? Can I modify a pair at home, or is there something magic that has to be done at a shop? The setup would be two carbs on an 8v71 on a 8.5 cr 440. Any advice would be appreciated.

    Pt105

Here are some pics of the 1940 Plymouth PT105 that my brother (Hadahemi) and I bought recently. It runs good and is drivable. There are a lot of dings in it, but for being 69 years old it is a pretty solid truck. :toothy7: So tell us what you think, not bad huh?

    Christmas

It seems like every year the stores put holiday stuff out a little bit earlier. I can understand that you want to get a jump on things, that's good business. But I don't remember ever seeing Santa Claus sharing shelf space with a witch before, especially in the first week of October. I didn't...

    440 rear main seal

Is there a way to remove the old rope seal while the engine is in the car? I don't want to pull the engine if I don't have to, but I cannot get the old seal to move. :angry6: I already have the steering linkages diconnected and the pan and windage tray are off. The seal retainer is also off. I...

    A body louvers

I have wanted a set of louvers for my Duster for a long time. I know that there are a lot of you out there who would also like to have a set. Even if you can find them, the prices are out of sight. Instead, I am in the process of making some that are my own design. These will not be copies of...

    Paint gun recommendation

Sometime in the next few months, I will be trying my hand at body and paint work. I don't have a paint gun, and am looking for opinions on what type of gun would be good for a beginner. As long as we're at it, how about recommendations for primer, paint, and clear as well. Any input would be...

    LCA bushing removal

I got the pin out when the rubber finally gave up and separated. Now the inner sleeve is still on the pin, and the outer sleeve is still in the hole. I can see removing the inner sleeve with some careful grinding/cutting. How is that outer sleeve supposed to come out? I can't figure out how to...

    8.75 measures 52 5/8 flange to flange

This doesn't seem to match any of the widths on the chart that is floating around here. Anyone have any idea what it could have been out of originally? The perches are 43 on center, and I was under the impression that it was from a 70 Dart.

    tire squeal = DUI?

Just came from a meeting at my car club, and have to relate this story to you. It seems that the 18 year old son of one of our members made the mistake of doing a burn-out within range of one of our county deputies. This sin was committed outside of town on a country road, with noone else in...

    Spring fever

Finally a nice day on the weekend so it can be enjoyed! Sunny and 60 feels good after that long winter we had. So I had to clean the car up and take some pics. Played football with my youngest and cruised all over town, it was great. Hope everyone else is having a good one too!

    goodyear 2 ply tire

The last of the parts came off the Scamp today (poor little thing is headed for the big garage in the sky:sad10:) and noticed that the spare is an old polyglas tire from goodyear. It's scuffed up on one side, but still has a lot of tread on it. I remember someone was looking for one, but don't...

    440 tuning troubles

I have a mid seventies 440 in my Duster. It has a Holley 750 dual feed, single pump carb with vacuum secondaries, an older Edelbrock dual plane intake, Schumacker headers and factory heads (previous owner claims to have done a home port job on them, but he also made other claims that were proven...

    abody louvers

I'm thinking that a set of louvers would look good on my Duster. Of course the few factory units that still exist can't be found, so I was wondering if the louvers from an fbody car would fit. Anybody ever try this? Or, are there some after market louvers that would fit? Any help would be...

    retractable seatbelts

I'm having trouble with the passenger side retractable seatbelt in my Duster. The problem is that it is very difficult to get the belt to pull out of the mechanisms. It seems like when the shoulder belt will come out, the lap belt won't- and then the other way around, also. You can usually get...

    How quick?

I put a mid 70's 440 in my 74 Duster. It has an Edelbrock intake with a 750 Holley and Shumaker headers. I don't know cam specs (I didn't build this engine, just took it from another car) but it seems to be a little stronger than stock. Car has a 4speed and 3:23 gears. Stock suspension. Can you...

    392 Wiw?

Going to look at a 392 hemi with trans. It supposedly runs good, and I'm assuming that it's a survivor or an older rebuild. What do you think it's worth?

Wanted: 73 & up S6 to RB mounts

I need a set of 73 & up S6 to RB Shumacher mounts. If you have a set you are not using please let me know. I bought a new set of S6 to small block mounts, and have decided to go 440 instead. I don't really want to spend that money again, if someone has some they would trade for. I can trade the...

    75 Duster for sale

A friend of mine is selling his 75 Duster. It is a slant six automatic car that comes with an extra slant six. Factory air, with the under hood pieces in the trunk. Less than 60,000 miles. Sorry, no pics. I think it has rally wheels on all four corners. The car is in northern Illinois. He is...

    74 Scamp for sale

198/6 automatic, drum brakes, power steering, very nice interior. Tank needs flushed, needs fuel line replaced, one brake occasionally locks up. Starts easily, runs well, idles well (in gear idle is rough-I think thats because of the junk in the gas tank). Car looks nice, especially the...

    New floors

I pulled the seats and carpet out of my 74 to install my floor hump, and what do you think I found? Yep, the old rusty floor surprise.:angry7: Didn't look to bad from underneath, but from up top it seems that some new pans are in order. So the question is where do all of you guys/gals get your...

    74 Dart Swinger

I would like to trade this Dart for a 68/69 Coronet. Or possibly an early to mid sixties b-body. Car has 8 3/4 rear (3.55 I think), frame ties, disc brakes, MSD6AL might stay with the car, new master cylinder, new power steering pump, and new tires on the back. Was 318 auto w/ac, now no motor...
