What do you guys think a fair price is to change an oil pump on a 318 with a stock pan? I will supply the pump. Since it is stock and will remain that way, just a cruiser, I would assume I would not need a high flow pump. Just a stock pump?

I understand. I thought that since the oil was thinner when hot, it would be easier for the pump to send it through the motor. I was also assuming that thicker oil would be harder for a pump to pump.

Wht does it do it only when it is hot and at idle?
