64 barracuda carpet and seat covers

My car is still a body shell at this point!! I have the carpet, and I have test fitted it and it fits nicely. It's from ACC. I bought it several years ago... You know, back when I thought the car would be finished in a year or two. Here are a couple of pics with the carpet laid in for a...

64 barracuda carpet and seat covers

I bought seat covers for my '67 Fury and '66 Barracuda from Legendary. I bought front and rear covers for both cars, but I bought them a few years apart. The rear bench portion of the rear seats for BOTH cars did not fit correctly. I took measurements from my originals against their re-pops...

How many of you without a dash pad? Now With Pics

Just welded up the holes. I think it looks cleaner without the pad, plus I think it costs more than it's worth to restore a trashed pad. It only costs a few cents in weld wire to clean it up.

    Carpet

I bought this ACC kit several years ago. Here is the passenger area mocked up about a week ago. Looks like a good fit. No where near ready for carpet in my car, so I don't know how the rest will fit. I think ACC is reputable. I hope.:D

    Carpet

Here are a couple options. http://www.stockinteriors.com/AutoCarpet.asp?Itemid=9590&MakeId=22&ModelId=347 http://www.accmats.com/Commerce/Search.aspx ACC is quite a bit more expensive. I don't know about quality comparison...

    Headliner question

I helped a friend install a Legendary headliner in his '66 Coronet. There was a little trimming to do where the bows insert into their sleeves. Other than that, we used spray adhesive on a few places and lots of little clamps to keep it where we wanted it until satisfied with the fit. I don't...

    Barracuda carpet help

I think 7 is the piece that covers the trunk divider. It's odd shaped and may need to be trimmed to fit. Give it a test fit and see if it works.

Has anyone seen these and know how they attach.

Those pieces probably mount with tabs rather than screws. The tabs are already in the car. When you mount those headliner teeth, use pliers to turn the tabs to hold them in. Like...

    Seat foam for 66 Barracuda

When you cut the listing wire channels, only go a couple inches deep, NOT all the way through. The photos of the old foam are all the way through because of wear. The only place they go through is where the hog rings go through the foam and attach to the frame. I chalked lines and made depth...

    Seat foam for 66 Barracuda

I bought the foam from Legendary for mine. The modifications they're talking about are measuring and cutting the channels for the listing wires and attatching the "flaps" to hog ring it to the frame. The flaps are cloth or muslin purchased from a fabric shop. You could cut up an old bed sheet to...

    surprised by legendary interiors

That surprises me too. I have had TWO rear seat back skins from them that did not fit right. I sent photos and eventually my old skins for comparison. One was for my 67 Fury and the other for my 66 Barracuda. After measuring the differences, and realizing they had made a mistake in their...

    headliner help

Pictures would be useful here. I agree with 1968 S, if you have excessive wrinkles in the headliner, something is not right. You should have everything pulled pretty tightly and very few wrinkles. Start from the rear and work forward. Use small but strong clamps to hold the sides. Get it fairly...

    66 and 67 bucket seats

As far as I know the frames are the same. The 66 Cuda backs have a metal shell with a textured coating on them that clip on at the top and screw on at the bottom. There are matching coated metal pieces for the sides as well. If you want a picture, I'll have to dig mine out. I recently recovered...

66 Cuda fold down rear seat

I used a piece of poster board to glue the carpet to the seat back. I used the same glue on both sides of the board, this is strong stuff both literally and figuratively. It holds well, use proper ventilation.

66 Cuda fold down rear seat

I started reupholstering the seats a while back and ran into some trouble. The covers I got from Legendary were 2-1/2 inches too short top to bottom and three inches too narrow side to side. Well, they made right with me on that and I got the seat back done. If you are doing these you will need...

    headliner help

I helped a friend install the headliner in his '66 Coronet last fall using some of the tips from the "resto Rick's" page. All the glass was still in the car and did not cause us any grief. We marked the bows front to rear with numbers to keep it organized and simple. We used a small army of...

    Need tips for headliner install

I helped a friend install the headliner in his 66 Coronet recently. We started out by putting all the bows in the headliner. You will want to trim the bow pockets in the material with a razor knife so the headliner is not too tight at the sides. Mark your centers on the fabric and on the...

    Bucket seat back upholstery

Thanks, I didn't think to hog ring those loops together. I'll try it on the next one to compare, I hope I don't have to take it all apart and redo it!! lol

    Bucket seat back upholstery

I covered one of my 66 Cuda seat backs last night, my first try at bolstered type upholstery. I had to fight the listing wires quite a bit so I spaced on getting a photo of that part of the install. I started by gluing the fabric skirt to the new foam and taking measurements for the hog ring...

Cost to upholster front and rear seats

Gonna have to agree with DIY guys, I did the seats in my 67 Fury with no trouble at all. It was my first go at upholstery work. Hey, if you've met me, that should be incentive enough!!:bootysha:
