Question for Shipping a Car from Canada

I went and inspected it personally. Very solid, not a spec of rust. I ended up passing on it and buying one about an hour away.

Question for Shipping a Car from Canada

I’ll be having it shipped, not bringing it over myself. I went up to Nick’s garage & checked it out this weekend. Actually looking for info on the whole purchase and shipping process. He was saying they don’t just sign the title over there like we do here in the US

Question for Shipping a Car from Canada

I’m thinking of buying a car that’s in Quebec Canada. Does anyone have experience with having one shipped, or transporting one across yourself? At this point, that’s one of the main deciding factors on whether or not I get the car. I’ve shipped parts there & had parts shipped from there a few...

How did you become a Mopar A-body Enthusiast?

Thank you! Yes, it is. IIRC, El Paso is about the halfway point from Yuma, AZ. That's all the way through AZ and through 3 hours of NM, hit the TX border, and just halfway to Fort Worth. I do like the town I'm in, though.

How did you become a Mopar A-body Enthusiast?

I actually like a variety of muscle cars. Started out with a '72 el Camino in the late 80's. When I was in the Marine Corps, my parents moved and sold it without telling me (which I bought with my own money, still torqued about that). I went a few years without muscle, other than a mud truck...

This one does: Dodge D-series pickups, 1972-1980: newer and tougher But the pics of Lil' Red Express rucks that I found didn't.

Not sure about older trucks, but I know my old '88 Dodge Dakota did.

I know where there's a solid '66 Barracuda in Yuma, if you want to add another one to your collection.

I guess junkyard A-bodies are all gone now

There's a junk yard in central California somewhere around Fresno that has lots of A-Bodies...at least they did last time I was there. Well, I just realized that was about 15 years ago. They might still be there.

I-M Shield - Intake Manifold Heat Shield

You could get the bottom of the intake manifold ceramic coated to reduce heat transfer if you're really worried about it, an don't have to worry about it coming loose and causing big problems. Probably wouldn't reduce temps as much as a shield, but would be more reliable.

Fixing broken/missing screw bosses on plastic parts

You could build it back up with some epoxy for plastic, and then re-drill the hole. Probably wouldn't be red, but it would work.

    1974 Duster I am Looking At....Need Help

Go talk to R.C., the machinist at NAPA on 4th Ave. He's a Mopar guy and could probably get you lined up with a decent car. Better have some time on your hands though, he'll talk Mopar with you for hours. Or, wait until the Snow-birds start leaving, and maybe something good will pop up. Some of...

When is it too much power for the street?

Too much is when you don't have the level of maturity/responsibility to keep it under control. If you keep it under control, there's no limit.

    1965 Barracuda L/H & R/H Front Park/Turn Lenses

Seems like I paid something like $35 for a nice set with no cracks, but had to polish them up a little. For mint condition, probably about $50 would be a fair offer to start, and haggle from there. It really comes down to: "What are they worth to YOU?" Layson's sells the lenses for $104 each...

408 vs. 440: Which Would You Choose?

Stock length rods, and there's a variety of pistons. For 425-450HP, stock rods and KB Hypereutectic flat top or step pistons will work (about $420 for a set).

408 vs. 440: Which Would You Choose?

Doesn't take much to make 425-450 with a 408, either. Stock magnum heads with a decent valve job/bowl blend, performer RPM airgap, 750 carb with 1" spacer, 1 5/8" headers, and a comp cams XE284H (maybe even XE274H), 3.91 rear would get you there and keep a decent idle. Don't really need forged...

408 vs. 440: Which Would You Choose?

My vote is for the SB stroker, especially for your goals. If the whole car is set up right, it will easily get you mid 11's and be street friendly.

Over $6000 to install TTI headers on 66 Barracuda

The first set of headers I ever installed on any car was on an A-body, and it took me 2 or 3 days of working a couple hours a day after work on them (total of MAYBE 4 hours). If you don't have a small starter, I don't think they will fit, and if that's the problem, he should have been able to...

    so....is a 7 1/4 really all that bad

My Barracuda still has the the 7 1/4 in it. As long as you keep them fairly stock, it will do fine. If you start adding power, just wait until it lets go and then upgrade.

    What makes mopar guy different?

You DON'T want to go from TX to CA. I'm moving from CA to TX in a couple years. For the OP question; we're just different in that we don't want to be like everyone else. Look at how many Mustangs there are. I cannot figure out why anyone would want one for the simple reason of everyone else...

I hate the new Dodge Dart

I bet it has more pep than the original Dart did back in '63. And it gets better mileage. Dodge has to make an economical car to keep up, and why not name it after their original "economy car?"

    Lowered truck stance opinions needed

Yeah, the SRT wheels are some of the best looking stock wheels to come out on anything.

    Lowered truck stance opinions needed

Yeah, I'd say drop the rear just a little, too. That is unless you actually use it to haul stuff. Those wheels look like mid-90's stock Chevy truck wheels.

Holy S*** this thing is fast!

The battery's in the trunk now. The tires were about 26" tall Cooper's with 4.10 gears with 513 HP and 526 lb/ft. The ET Streets are 28" and a lot stickier. No subwoofers or amps in this ride. I'm going to be putting a fuel cell in right over the spare tire well, which should move the fuel...
