Mine connected to the bottom lip of the dash frame. I also had to find both pieces and went through a couple until I got the right ones.

It would be easier to pull the bulb out and replace it than pull the unit out.

I ordered mine from year one and it was one piece. Very nice quality and it was quite simple to install

Hey guys when mounting my original AM radio in my 73 Dart Sport do the mounting nuts go on top of the plastic facia on do they butt up to the dash frame. Thanks Ed

Well on my dart sport I took the old ones off and drilled the door uppers for the new ones. They sent me some new screws for that I could be wrong though

My cluster is already out of the car and I plan on the same thing I think the old one was a paint treatment but I think if you are patient you can get it out.

I did lizard skin on the bottom of the car I think it was heat and was going to do sound inside but haven't yet. It looks great but it is real messy.

Yea I saw that also he might have the arm from the motor off a newer car is all I can think of I am not sure when they changed from the clip type though mine is a 73 2 speed.
