Difference between a body and b body springs?

Just wondering, what the difference there is, between a & b body springs? Reason being, when I got my 72 Swinger, the guy gave me a 1970 B body 8 3/4 and some brand new springs. The 8 3/4 went in fine, after I put some new perches, in the correct spot I had a terrible time getting the springs...

    Air shocks & pinion angle

A friend of mine, uses air shocks, to help with tire clearance. He asked me if they alter the pinion angle. I had no idea, so thought I'd check here. He has a 73 Duster. Thanks

    Another steering column question.

I removed the inner shift tube, from my steering column. I went from column shift to floor shift. Now, I'm having problems with the shift collar, where the shift lever used to be. If it is not positioned just right, I can't turn my ignition key. Can I just remove the collar, where the shift...

    steering column shift lever removal

Well, I figured it out. Took a good look at the shifter tube. Found two spot welds. (See picture) Drilled them out and WD-40d the tube. Started tapping the lower shift lever and low and behold, it slid off. Cleaned up the inside of the outer tube with a wire wheel and the above bearing went...

    steering column shift lever removal

Ok, I have the column out of my 72 Dart. And have removed the snap ring. I don't see how I can pull the shaft out from the coupler end, seeing how it's about a foot up in the shift tube. Suggestions? Thanks

    steering column shift lever removal

The pic is not the column in my 72 Dart. It's just an example pic. Reason for this, is the rear header tube is so close to the steering column, that it melts the plastic lower bearing. And a $80-$90, I rather spend $7-$8 on the bearing pictured above

    steering column shift lever removal

I'm trying to do is use the bearing pictured below instead of the plastic one. $8 verses $80-$90. This is a 72 Dart Swinger. The picture was just an example, not the actual column in my rig.

    Flaming river rack and pinion?

Thanks for the info. And you were correct in questioning the placement of the heim/outer tie rod end. I have them installed upside down. Here's a pic from the AlterK manual. Guess I know the first thing I do in the morning. I'm 68 and it's taken me about 4 1/2 years to get to this point...

    Flaming river rack and pinion?

So I'll have to take the tie rods off and then unscrew that coupler from the threaded rod. Correct? I noticed that when I turn it, the threaded rod turns also. Is it suppose to do that? Is this going to have to be repeated on the drivers side also? What ya think, 1/2", 3/4"? Sorry for all the...

    Flaming river rack and pinion?

Never doing this before. What I'm asking is, how do I adjust the tie rods. I know there is a coupler between the tie rod and the threaded rod coming from the rack and pinion. One has right hand threads and the other left hand threads. Is this what I turn? I just looked at both tie rods and...

    Flaming river rack and pinion?

Anyone using Flaming river rack and pinion? Been searching, on line, for info on how to set toe in. Heres what I'm dealing with. I have the driver's side tire pointing straight forward. The passanger side is pointing about 1/2" to 3/4" out. So, trying to figure out how to get them to both...

    Ball joint stud

Trying to torque down the spindle to the lower controle arm. The nut got a few threads below the cotter pin hole and then the stud started to spin. Now I can't tighten or loosen the nut. I tried the seat the stud with a piece of wood and a hammer. Still spins. Any suggestions? Thanks

    New cam bolt question.

While checking on new upper control arm cam bolts, I noticed there were two differant ones. One that said, + - 2 1/2 degrees and another that was + - 1 1/8 degree. Which is the correct one? Why the differance? Going on a 72 Swinger. Thanks Tony

Finallt I got the K-frame out.

Once I got the torsion bars out, it went kinda easy. A friend, that is helping me, had a torsion bar removal tool. Man! That made that job easy. Only problem was, as we lowered it and pulled it slowly forward, the below pictured shaft came with it. Had the pin out of the coupler, but the...

    Removing K-frame?

Dartnut. So, you're saying I need to take the steering column out? If the pin is out of the coupler, wont the steering box just slide off, as you lower the K-frame and slide it forward?
