    Round 2

It would look good with a black hood too. My brother had a red 69 back in the early 70's with black vinyl top & bee stripe and he used a black hood. I painted the hood on my car black when I first put it together and it looked good, but I quickly grew tired of it and painted it to match the car...

That is one badass Dart! Excellent work! What's in it?? Is it a 4 speed? That's cool as hell, and old school.....just how I like them! George

Need opinions on rear window install in a 72 Dart

Rear windshield is installed differently from front windshield. In the rear, you install the gasket onto the glass, then install that assembly onto the car. The front windshield is the opposite -- you install the gasket onto the car, then install the glass into the gasket. George

Put a spoiler on the Dart, how's it look?

Spoiler on the Dart looks cool, but WTF happened to that Demon?? Holy Cow! George

Paint removal on grill & finish panel

The parts are aluminum not plastic. Any updates on the refinish?? George

need opinion on tail stripe (pics)

Definately do it! I would use the stock matte black stripe personally so it doesn't get lost on the black paint across the trunk. If I had the money I'd have a stripe on my 69 already. Nice car. George

Paint removal on grill & finish panel

    Oh...I dunno....maybe Paint Remover??

    Paint prep question/rust problem

Use CLR and a ScotchBrite pad on that flash rust. It'll come right off. Rinse it, dry it, and prime it. George

    Windshield Replacement

I called my local Safelite and they told me the "car is too old" and they can't get a windshield for it. Hmmmmmmm. So someone here on FABO posted a link to this place, and not only do they have the glass, but you can either pick it up & install it yourself, or have them install it for you. Just...

A-body nuts and bolts indentification ?

Those hold the tail light buckets to the body I think. Is this a 68-9 Dart? George

    Blacked-out grille?

Here is how I would have a Duster grill.............. http://public.fotki.com/scamp/mopar_muscle_cars/louhs1970duster440.html Thats cool looking. I don't know if it's stock or not, but I love it. I'm with an earlier poster; I'm not a fan of the sharktooth grill either. LOL George

Lets talk about fiber glass body parts.

What does the car run now?

    6 Pack Scoop

6 pack scoop on my Dart is 2-3/4" from the back of the hood. It's a US Bodysource 6PAK fiberglass hood. Like has been said, they never came from the factory on an A Body, so put it where it fits your needs. George

Self Etching primer... Good or Bad?

I've been using self etching primer for YEARS and never had a problem. Don't let the "sky is falling" guys make you nervous. Get the car to bare metal, clean it, and shoot the primer on. Good Luck. George

    rear window opening question

If it leaks water, you can add some dum-dum to keep the water out. Mine didn't leak. George

    rear window opening question

My last 69 Dart was very similar to yours. I guess the factory didn't keep close tolerances in this area. Just but it back together and drive it. George

    69 dart bumper bolts

Last set I got from eBay. Usually a whole bunch for sale on there. Be aware that the new reproduction bolts are slightly larger in the head than the originals, and the flat washers are bigger diameter too. I went through HELL to find a complete set of real ones when I restored my 69 Swinger 340...

    72 A body door fasteners

Yes, sorry for the typo. I fixed it. George

    72 A body door fasteners

3/8-16, grade 5, about 1-1/4" long, and factory bolts had an integral lock washer. Grade 5 really isn't necessary, but thats what I'd use. Geo

    Vinyl Roof Revival HELP Needed

You can try baby oil. If you drive the car in the rain it will probably make a mess on the windshield, but if it's only a good weather car, give it a shot. George

    Roping in a windshield

You guys are right. I misspoke when I said "A Bodies". My experience is with Darts. The Dart front gasket is the self locking type, and the rear is not, hence the 2 different install methods. Sorry bout that! George
  27. George R

    Roping in a windshield

Thats how you install the windshield in an A body, just like GMachine said. No rope needed. The rear window has a different install technique due to the different style of gasket, and you do use the rope technique to install that one. George

    Where Can I Find...

I looked for a repro set when I was doing my 69 Swinger, and that was the best price I could find for them. I ended up using real ones. Remember, real stuff always fits better than reproduction. Good Luck OC. George

69 Dart tail light bezels,PG Classic

Snake, I had a set on my gold 69 Swinger 340 and LOVED them. They were perfect in every way possible. I wish I had the money for another set for this car, but, no funds. Hey! If Cindy is feeling generous............. :D George

    What is it?

Second pic is the primary E Brake cable guide. It welds to the bottom of the floor pan roughly under the driver's seat. Geo
