    Dash Light Bulbs

I believe the 168 is actually the brighter of the two bulbs but as recommended you can go with an LED and get a cooler running, longer lasting bulb than the 194s. I tried using 168s in my dash and they got so hot they almost welded the plastic sockets to the circuit board. Places like...

    Need help with gauges PLEASE!!!!

There is a voltage limiter located inside the fuel gauge. It sounds like you toasted something with an accidental ground somewhere. If the fuel sender or temperature senders ground for any length of time you risk cooking something.

    What is this?

I don`t have that suppressor nor the one located on the coil on my car and I`ve had no problems.

    What is this?

As 67Dart273 has mentioned that`s a noise suppressor. It should connect to the 12 volt connector of your fuel gauge.

    Bad ECU from the factory!!?

I have had an orange ECU that was bad right out of the box. As suggested, check your ground, reluctor gap, and have the ECU checked at your local auto store. When you replaced your engine did you change the cam/timing chain? If so, are you certain that everything is set correctly? The way you...

    what do you call it

Old timers would drill out the connectors and straight wire through the bulkhead. I`ve seen the actual individual metal connectors advertised on Ebay. Year One may be able to help you with the connectors as they contract with a company that makes factory replacement harnesses.

    vacum advance or mechanical advance????

I recommend using the vacuum advance in addition to your mechanical advance if the car is to be primarily driven on the street. The vacuum advance responds to the many differences in throttle positions that are experienced in every day driving. This results in a generally smoother operation and...

Wow, free is good! 440source.com once had a supplier for those pigtails.

I agree. But 5lbs. is 5lbs. and every little bit helps.

    Denso alternator swap complete

I`ve got one on my big block Barracuda. More amps and internally regulated, so you can lose the voltage regulator. A nice upgrade!

splicing into instrument lights for the tach?

You should be able to find the circuit in your fuse box by testing each fuse with a test light. Check each one while turning on your lights. If you can`t do that you can tie into the orange wire that feeds the radio. It should be accompanied by a red wire in the same harness.

Chrome ecu in place of a orange one

You`re welcome, but I see the color has changed. The orange box is basically the entry level box which is good to about 6K. The chrome box would actually be an improvement.

Chrome ecu in place of a orange one

Yup, no problem. The chrome box is good to 8K rpm while the gold is accurate to 10K with minimal spark scatter.

dashboard speaker and turn signal switch

There`s a lot of suppliers for 4 x 10 speakers, Parts Express, HiFiSoundConnection, and Crutchfield, are just a few. There`s also the alternative of installing an adapter plate where you can install two 3.5" or 4" speakers in place of the one 4 x 10. Crutchfield sells a 4 x 10 by Retrosound that...

It should be a plug that is in your wiring harness. If the colors have not changed from the `60s then the wires will be brown, green, and black.

    Battery in trunk/ fastback?

I`m thinking of moving the battery to the trunk in my 68 Barracuda fastback. The car is a street car so I have my bumper jack and spare in the trunk still and would like to keep it there. I`d like to move the battery to the right rear. My problem is that, if I move the battery to the trunk, I...

    Battery Hold down

Unless you have a group 31 battery you should be okay. Like 169dart4y said just make sure you select the correct hole in the inner fender to attach the hook into.

    battery cable frutration...

I believe jacksautoparts carries the positive cables with the correct insulation but they`re still pricey. I would only spend that kind of money if you`re looking for a concourse type restoration.

    battery cable frutration...

Frutration/frustration, they`re both enough to piss you off. :D If it comes down to it you can simply buy the two cables separately and then just crimp your own ends on and bind the two with a heat resistant tape.

AM Radio reception fades in in and out

Do you have a telescopic antenna? They used to make an antenna about 60" long. I would definitely suggest one if you don`t have one yet. The long antennas look weird but they do a good job of picking up and holding AM broadcasts. If you adjusted the trim on the radio I guess there`s not much...

P3690426 - Mopar Performance Electronic Ignition Conversion Kits

I`ve used that system in a ton of different cars of various years with or without tachs and have had almost no issues. I did have a new orange box that was no good but I`ve used the system with the p3690732 voltage regulator and the standard VR and had no problems either way.

    Pos/Neg Battery Cables

Check out Jacksautoparts, he used to have a decent reproduction for a fair price. The key differences are the battery ends and the wrapping on the positive cable. The negative cable is a single cable for the early models and adds a small ground on the later models.

Where Is All The Tech Help

I`m not sure of what you`ve got working and what you don`t have working. Is it only the fuel gauge that`s not working or is it everything? If it`s just the fuel gauge you can take the wire off the sending unit and ground it while watching the fuel gauge, the gauge should go to full if it`s okay...

Where Is All The Tech Help

    Accel ceramic boot wires

I did finally get the wires, they were on back order just about everywhere. I found them on Amazon.com ,saved about 38 dollars, and got free shipping. I put them on today and scrapped my old wire looms. I think they`re going to work out nicely. Like BBLM23 said they`re a ceramic covering about...
