I was thinking of trying to make gaskets for them. A Holley bowel screw gasket looks like a close fit. Did he make his or something he bought?

Moroso Perm-Align gaskets Strange thing is just got three bleeding oil,all on the bottom. I pulled the covers,poured a little oil in them and they are not leaking around the top of the tubes at the welds. Takes about 5 min. for the leaking to start. Running a HV pump,75psi @ idle hot,15-40 oil.

Who makes a good fab aluminum valve cover for small block Mopar? I've tried the $80.00 e-bay covers,got oil coming out of the bolt tubes. Not looking for $300 buck plus covers either.

Mine would start and idle,rev fine,but would die when I put it in gear.

Use the insulater gasket. This is a common problem with the Eddy carbs. I have a '68 Super Bee running the Eddy carb till I can give the OEM Carter a replate & rebuild. I kept having a problem with the car starting after warm up,acted like vapor lock. I used a 1/2 wood spacer,problem fixed.

I'm building a 340 +.040 with 4.125 stroke crank,drag race only. Plan to use a girdle with studs on the mains. From what I read the 340 blocks are somewhat thin to start with. I'm thinking I should pour it with Hard Blok,full pour. Anyone used it in their builds? Use a full pour or less? Thanks

Yes you can mill and maintain the correct pushrod angle. A good shop will angle mill them. Ask questions you might have of any shop you use. They should be able to give you answers you can understand even if you don't have a background in engine building.

I just did an alternator bolt on an Eddy alum. head. This is the best product I could find to replace the threads,works much better than a helicoil & won't back out like a helicoil will. http://www.timesert.com/
