Guys, thanks for all the help, it finally went in with a lot of turning and shaking. Now have that beautiful Inch and a Quarter clearance from the housing to the ring gear. I'll post those numbers tomorrow. hthanks again for all the help.

Hey Guys, Thanks for all the help, I've pulled an tried reseating the converter several times. It feels like it's seated, and with alittle shaking did feel it slide in alittle farther. It would be nice there was a space to get a mirror back behind the converter and see if it is truly seated...

I'll take a measurement and confirm, thanks for the info. As for the Converter snout, yes it fit and slide into the crank without any issues. I'm going out and play with it right now.

Oh btw, did you have any force of just rotating the converter to align all the shaft all the machines shafts and splines?

Thanks, I've pulled the converted and tried turnning and reseating it several time. I feel the input shaft seat, then the pump the tangs seat in the cut-outs. I does seem to be about an 1/2" though that it's hanging over. I'll play with alittle more and see what happens. Thanks :).

Crazy Question, but what did Mopar consider a small block? 318 or a 400? So I'm assuming then a 383 and above would be a big block.

Hey everyone, frustrating afternoon. Finally got enough free time to try and mate the 727 to the 440, and it didn't fit. The Bell Housing stands off about 1/2 - 3/4" from the engine. The Bolt holes line up perfectly, and the Converter is inserted all the way into the Trans input shaft, but...

I need your help guys, I haven't mated the transmission to the motor yet, but was curious if the original Transmission Cross Member (originally a Slant 6 & 904 Tranny) will bolt up to the 727? I've read that they both used the same cross member, but figured I'd ask before I start dropping this...

Will a tranny pulled from a 68' 225 Dart bolt to a 69' casting 440 Engine?

I just pulled my 225/904 power trans, and have really learned alot from this thread. I have a 727, but am thinking about the 904 seriously now. Will my 225 (slant six) transmission bolt to the back of a 69' casting 440? Thanks Pat
