    speedometer connection to bezel

The speedo cable is held in place by a metal tab you have to press toward the cluster. If you don’t have huge fat hands it can be released by reaching straight up through the column mounts.

    Pontiac guy gone Mopar.

Um, putting the auto trans input shaft into the pilot on the crankshaft tells nothing. Kinda like sticking a pencil into a paper cup and saying see, they don’t fit. :D

    regarding full synthetic oil

Understood, and I realize this is a fact. Just saying I have personally never had cam/lifter or any other lubrication failure using either of the two mentioned oils with flat tappet valve trains. I do think it’s possible zinc additives may be more important with todays lack of metal and...

    regarding full synthetic oil

I gave better information than we got. :D The Castrol GTX 20/50 in Florida was a safe answer. Having run it in every new and classic for over five decades without failure is proof enough for me.

    regarding full synthetic oil

I wouldn’t. That motor wasn’t designed to run synthetic. Not to mention synthetic may very well increase or cause leaks on that 440. Castrol GTX 20/50 is a great oil for that motor. You will get lots of opinions on oil brands and types, but Castrol and Valvoline are both really good.

    71 Dart newbee

What motor and is it electronic ignition or points? I think first thing I would check is the steering column electrical connector, and if there is any indication of any gauges working. You have power to the coil, but what distributor, stock looking or maybe aftermarket? Also make absolutely...

73 Dart new to the forum

Welcome and nice score from another 73 member. I wish my Dart was in that condition when I got it.:D One upside I guess, was I was able to do about anything I wanted with it. 5.9 Magnum with V belt accesories, A500 overdrive trans and a ton of other aftermarket additions. Here's some before and...

    1971 Dodge Dart swinger

You did the right thing by waiting until you talk to some Mopar guys. A parts car is worth 500, and I see disassembled cars or no motor and trans going for a lot more than that.

Yes they did and that wagon looks like a good start. Here's some motivation for you. One of our Mopar group has a wagon.

Help with parts list. 72 dart 360

I think you might have left out exactly what you would like the car to be. A few hundred bucks and that thing could be driving, or thousands later it might have some of the stuff it actually came with. That is a pretty interesting start though.:D

    My first Mopar

Look for the 4 digit number on the lower left front of the carb stamped into the mounting flange. That will tell what basic carb it is.

I got mine out by Gilbert and the reservation, but I live up by Prescott. Found it on Craigslist and it was a driving car. FBO (4secondsflat.com) says use manifold vacuum (drivers side) They are pretty much race oriented and the owner Don Gould took 2016 King of the track Madras speedway drags. That said, a lot of us use ported vacuum for the average daily driver street car (passenger side on your 1406) This...

73 Darts had them, and they shared the same cluster with the Dusters. There are lots of tutorials on this around the internet. You can pay 40-50 bucks for an OEM, or make an electronic regulator for those gauges from Radio Shack parts for a couple of bucks.
