I put an electric fan in front of the radiator.

yeah I had to unhook the heater hose, at the firewall, on a newer jeep and burp the water out that way, that was the highest spot in the cooling system. The temp guage at the radiator is cool, I see them at Advance Auto now.

I had that problem and solved it easy.

My Valiant's tranny cooler lines came off ok, 4 years ago; but, my car came from California to the east coast the year before. I did spray the fittings with PB Blaster. What a joy to work on a Non-rust belt older car.

The shroud, and radiator package; I would guess maybe $75 for both, IF the radiator is in Very good shape. You can still buy these radiators, thru Advance Auto Parts stores, etc... The V8 and Slant 6 might have diff hose locations, if your thinking of putting a V8 in there. If...

use what fits. the coolant has no clue if it travels top, to bottom, or left to right. Copper is actually a beter conductor of heat, than aluminum, for the same size. Aluminum is cheaper though. USRadiator makes some good stuff. :) http://www.usradiator.com/...

drill new holes,or oval out the current ones, to let it drop further. maybe the metal under the radiator needs to be bent down a little? I know `1964 and earlier had less room, in between the sides, my car has only, about 19inch opening for the air to go thru.

Wow, scarey; why vacum fill a system, that has the radiator cap as the highest point though? Is that supposed to be faster, than the old way, {I use} of; loosen the heater hose, and fill the radiator, till coolant comes out the upper heater hose, reattach the heater hose, and finish...

Are you using the stock fan, And the electric? I am using the stock solid fan, And the electric as a Pusher. Inside a garage, your not going to get the airflow; that you will out on the road.

Good question!! I have no clue, but do know a thermostat is helpful to slow the coolant flow down slightly. I guess you could put digital temp sensors at the top of the intake, and at the water pump inlet, to find out for sure.
