    Color opinions for 68 Barracuda

I have mixed feelings on this one. Black is really nice but your body work better be impeccable otherwise it will look like crap. Silver is also nice but seems to be over used now days and would stand out more if you did a darker, charcoal silver-ish hue. White is just plain classy and always...

The days of welding body panels are coming to an end...

I need to get some of this for my Dads dentures......they fall out at the worst times it seems.

    why is my welding inconsistent?

You did not mention what welder you are using. Flux core or gas and solid core? What are your settings? Sounds like your temp is too hot if it's burning through Which means you should be concerned about your settings. Turn the heat down a click and try a sample piece until, you get it where you...

    Trouble with window trim clips

Nice looking ride by the way! I had the same issue with my screws. All I had to do was beat the living crap out of them to get them to snap into place, but I don't see why you can't install flat head tapered sheet metal screws instead of the supplied rounded head ones.

Best buffing tricks for oxidized, original paint?

Well, my buddy said it would take 20 minutes to dig his buffer out so I told him don't worry about it and just used my orbital, with what I had. I did the clay bar with the soapy water in a spray bottle and cleaned the crap out of the paint. Rinsed. Two coats of polish and two coats of yellow...

Best buffing tricks for oxidized, original paint?

Cool. Thanks for the advice guys. Adam, I have a cheap orbital buffer but my buddy has a variable speed professional buffer although I will have to check and see what kind of pads he has. Do you have any recommended polishes I can get at the auto parts store since I don't have a lot of time to...

Best buffing tricks for oxidized, original paint?

Any good tricks for bringing back original paint that needs a serious buff? Was thinking a good scrub, some clay bar action then some cutting compound and finish off with a good polish, but open to any suggestions from the detail guys. I'm doing a favor for a friend with a 69 Buick LeSabre...

    "PLYMOUTH" header lettering

Can you hit a junk yard and try to find one then trace the holes on paper or poke through them with a pencil? Maybe someone here has their letters off their panel and can make you a template.

    Windshield gasket for 67 Barracuda

A good bead of blacked goo first should keep the gasket from leaking..lock strip or not.

Best (or damn near the best) Hood Pin Kit

Use the lanyards. The first time you drop a pin or put it in your pocket then lose one you will wish you installed the lanyards. No they don't look gay.

    Windshield gasket for 67 Barracuda

If you do use the 68-69 gaskets and WANT to install the trim you have to drill holes to install the trim clips which are available.

Anyone install pass side mirror on 67 b'cuda?

I've even thought of putting one of those panoramic contraptions on my interior rear view to help see a wider view.

Anyone install pass side mirror on 67 b'cuda?

Think I'm gonna install a pass side mirror on my 67' but wanted too see if anyone else has done it. Of course my 67 did not have the pass mirror from the factory so I take it that it is just a matter of drilling a couple holes and ...done? I could really use this mirror since traffic...

Ideas needed for 67 Barracuda paint scheme.

Here's a different stripe on a 67 fastback that belongs to my next door neighbor believe it or not. I really like this stripe and have not met a mopar guy that didn't say it looks really good on that car. I love it.

Paint experts ? Chalky paint ?

I've noticed that the sun oxidizes the hell out of red paint moreso than any other color. Think it has to do with the amount of gold that is in the red that sunlight uv rays really seem to eat up. Have not noticed it so much with white, but white is very forgiving and as you know, ignored by...

what does everyone use for wax?

Which buffing pad did you use. Flat foam, waffle pad, wool? I used a cheap orbital buffer and used the wool pad that came with it. I did it again a couple weeks later with micro fiber pads which gave the exact same results. Can't go wrong taking Adam R's advice as he's the professional here...

what does everyone use for wax?

I've tried every paste wax and liquid wax under the sun and never got better results than my latest attempt with this: I got an orbital buffer cheapo from advance. Used #7 meguires liquid polish with the buffer. let dry, wiped off. Used Meguire's #27 yellow wax with the buffer as suggested on...

I have a fiberglass hood that is matte black with matte clear over that. I have never waxed or buffed the hood but was wondering if this can be done without messing it up.

    Buffing/polishing products for low dust.

I finally bought myself an orbital buffer to give my elbows a break when polishing the car. I bought Maguire's deep gloss polish 7 and buffed it out lightly and used a micro fiber towel to remove the haze, then used another clean microfiber towel to go over that for the final wipe down. I...

    Airdams.....

That looks sweet! I'm almost afraid to even compliment people at car shows now days because it seems that the owners are standing there itching for someone to say something, anything negative about their car. I've never seen so many testy people as I have lately. I never say anything negative...

I'd rather have a rounded nut than a worn out hole.8) Or a flattened nut for that matter.
