Lookig for someone who has installed a B&M cable operated shifter,,

I have a TCI Shifter in my Duster and needed to loop the cable up and around the top of the bell housing and I used a small round steel clip and routed the cable through the clip and was able to drill a small pilot hole in the firewall and bolt the cable away from the headers. The first cable...

    TCI Cable issues

The brackets they use to connect the cable are a pain in the *** to get to clamp tight against the bottom lip of the pan. I had to use longer bolts and even then it was a pain to hook up the cable. I do not like the design of the cable and brackets for the TCI Shifters.

    TCI Cable issues

I had the same issue. I needed to order a replacement cable ($61.00) and got a shorter one (5' I think) and ran it up from the transmission and looped it against the firewall with a couple clips and back under the car through the floor. I have had no issues with it.

    TCI Transmission is bad

I have a TCI transmission in my Duster and needed to replace the low band and now I have a leak somewhere. (Can't see any fluid leaking anywhere) I need to check the fluid every time I drive my car and top it off. I am searching for another transmission.

    Last transmission bolt - TDC

Try a 14 mm six point socket or open/box wrench. Sometimes if you put in another bolt and can get a hold of both bolts, you can use the other bolt for leverage and break the one you are trying to get out free. This is depending on if you have enough clearance to do so on the flywheel. Is it a...

    TCI Streetfighter Shifter Installation Questions

Shifter is finished!!! Works Great!! Not much room for adjustment on the cable though. Hint: When adjusting the cable , you can make adjustments much easier by removing the clip at the shifter and adjusting the rods at the transmission easier by measuring the travel points on the shifter handle...

    TCI Streetfighter Shifter Installation Questions

One other question. The instructions say to drill a 1 1/2" hole 3" in front of the front left shifter mount to route the cable through the floor. I drilled the hole and the cable seems to be too close to the mount that holds the cable to the shifter body. The cable would need to be bent at too...

    TCI Streetfighter Shifter Installation Questions

Just a couple quick questions. I am installing a TCI Streetfighter Automatic Shifter in my Duster. My car currently has a column shift. calling all transmission gods 46 re 96 ram 2500 4X4

Could be planetary gears in the transmission. But like the previous post indicates, you need to check the easy things first. if they check out fine then pull down the pan and look for any metal in the pan.

    Off to the tranny shop!

Good thing that it didn't bust up completely. That is great news that you were not hurt and that your car was damaged by flying bellhousing parts coming out from under the car. And the best thing of all is that you've got a spare 904 case you can rebuild in short order to get you back up and...

    more 904 trouble

I used to run a 904 in my Duster and it was a very reliable transmission. I only changed out to the 727 because I felt that the 727 was a more tourque producing unit in getting the power to the rear wheels. Sorry you have had so many issues with your transmission and believe me you are not alone...
