Chattanooga is a great place. My son and his family live there and we usually go up 5 or 6 times a year. He has a C body (1969 Chrysler 300) by the way if you ever run across a stash of C body parts he may be interested.
Two nuts on the back of the bezel. It is pulled up flush against the dash frame. The original dashpad fits perfectly with no gap whatsoever between the bezels and pad. As a matter of fact, the original pad has witness marks from the instrument cluster and radio/heater control bezels contacting it.
This is my latest rant involving piss poor quality repro parts. This time it's a dashpad for my 70 Dart. I ordered an ABC Moparts dashpad from Herb's Parts because they were recommended by several folks on here as being good quality, and "the best". It did not fit properly and left a 7/16 to...
I've never had problems cleaning carbs the old school way. Mine may not look all pretty and shiny, but they perform great. Sorry but I'm just not sold on this gizmo!
Haven't tried cold smoking. I am pretty into conventional low and slow smoking down here in Mississippi. This sounds pretty interesting though and your setup is impressive for a homebuilt unit. I may just have to give this a try! Keep us posted on your "experiments".
Had a set of Hookers I bought in the early 90s that were called TBC coated. Stood for Thermal Barrier Ceramic coating. Not sure if that might be what you have or not.
Is anybody else sick and tired of spending money on Chinese made crap parts that absolutely suck? Recently I have bought quite a bit of mostly small parts to redo some things on the Duster and I've slung a tool or two on more than one occasion while trying to install some of this crap! The...
Yeah, I would have liked to have met some of the FABO folks that were there too. Gonna try to make the Mopar gathering at Crusin' the Coast this year. Maybe I can look you up then.
Any of you guys from "up there" are welcome down here in Mississippi anytime, and we'll treat you right. Can't say so much for the way the heat and mosquitoes will treat you though. LOL
Going to the local Pull A Part Saturday on a scavenging mission. I'll be glad to look for stuff that anyone has been having trouble finding. No guarantees, but I'll try. Just pm me with your needs if interested.
Yeah, pretty much what 70aarcuda said. The 340 was around for only 6 years and earned a reputation as a mean little motor. So, when you find one now, you'll usually have to shuck out a nice wad of cash to get it........that's just the way it is.
Hey Duckbuster. I was just through T town a couple of weeks ago. Went to see my son and daughter in law in Chattanooga. Always like stopping at Dreamland to grab some ribs. Nice to meet ya.
I can't claim these terms, but many years ago I was in a local parts store when an older black gentleman walked in and proceeded to request a new "universical" joint for the "coupling pole" on his on his "Buurick" Deuce and a quarter (Electra 225).
