    Yes, You should have them in there. The pcv is sucking oil in, it will clog the pcv. Plus could cause other problems.

    I have several friends that have had hyd. lifter failure. They are all made in china now. Thats why I went with the solid lift on the stroker motor I built. Adjusted them 3 times and now I just run the **** out of it.

    Dont do the drilling thing on the thrust plate. You dont need it there is plenty of oil that comes out of the front bearing to oil the chain.

    Harland Sharp rockers - a good choice?

    I'm running them in a 408 I just put together. I have no complaints, they seem to have gotten broke in. I went back thru the adjustment 3 times after I installed them and all seamed good last time around. I'm going to the strip in may and will go back over them before I run there.

    Just put together a 408 in a 69 cuda used a Milodon 8 qt no clearence problems. You do need the extra volume if you plan on turning some RPM's

    You will have some issues with the lower hose going to the rad. And may be some alt brackets different.

    Check out Indy cylinder head they have a great price on cast heads and you can add extras to fit your budget. I bought my cam from them and had them put the proper springs in. I saved a lot dealing with them.

    When I prelubed the motor I just finished I rotated the motor over buy hand. When the oilpassages lined up the oil guage would drop and you would see oil start coming out on one side. then rotate the engine over till it started comming out onthe other side

    I agree with what deamon said. I used an air ratchet to do mine and had no problem getting oil up there. Those rocker shafts are real easy to put in wrong they only can work one way.

    4.0 L Jeep Engines?

    The rear mains arn't bad and while your there if it has close to 200,000 thousand put a new oil pumpin it. Got one for my son and he has beat the hell out of it. It has been from the beach to the mountains and cut no slack. I havent seen one die that has had the oil changed on a normal basis.

    4/21/69 was the prod. date, it was a 318 car but I have seen other small blocks that were orange.

    few questions to finish up build

    You have to take the oil pump drive out. Then use a priming shaft that goes all the way down to the oil pump. Use an elec. drill to turn the shaft. Make sure you rotate the motor over to a couple of times to get oil up to the rocker shafts.

    Alternator / Eddie Head Interference

    I just went thru this same thing. I had to switch everything to newer brackets it was because the water pump was thicker on the later model motor im using. Even switched the crank pully everything is just right now. Dont know if this will help, thought i'd share you have helped me alot in the past.
