WIW? 74 Dart custom 4 door sedan

On ebay you are looking at about $2500 (there have been a few with similar mileage) Try to explain to them $2500 - $3000 is what it is sold by a RETAILER who has overhead costs and most won't touch $3000 unless it sits for a good while. I would probably spend $2000 on it.... I THINK I got my $$$...

    Overpriced Crap Yards

For my older cars - (for hard to find or if no parts cars to buy) I try to buy loose parts from private sellers because I'd rather they get my money AND help them keep up their own vehicles and/or fund projects. If this puts a few yards out of business - so be it. The ones that are fair and in...

    Overpriced Crap Yards

I appreciate being able to find parts and cars with relative ease where I am at in this part of our country. If I am somewhere and find something - I always ask for a price before I pull or have them look to pull. I at times try to negotiate if possible if I know the part is too near a new...

What is an H code car ?

I'm new to the real muscle side of A bodies. I dunno. What is an H code car? What are the characteristics - H code only options? Is there links someone can refer me to? I ASSUME my 1970 Duster 340 is an H code : VS29HOBXXXXXX

    Overpriced Crap Yards

I'm near Dallas and finding anything worth while for a 70's or older project is near impossible at a salvage yard. I keep my ears and eyes open for parts cars. Whenever I do try to find stuff for my daily driver and I have to go to a pick n pull it SUCKS. Just like the privious responses before...

    car parts in Cuba????

Cuba closed off in the late 50's - American cars from before the isolation have been prized there since as the replacement import cars were Russian made crap..... so anything left has been well used

I think I have named my Dart and have not realized it until now. It. I've been trying to figure out my linkage, track down a couple of parts and busting my knuckles while saying " D@#% It. "

I did forget: 1986 Shelby GLHS. An Omni with an attitude. I would upgrade some including 3 inch exaust and a Mopar T3 .... The 2.2 is an awesome rice eater

    Found a donor for a 360 :))

Nice job! But yeah, maybe you can salvage parts, sell them. Maybe you can actually profit some and make others happy too that need parts from the mag. I go to a local scrap metal yard to find stuff and it sucks watching usable stuff go. :wack:

    Dont you hate it when...

There is a commercial running in Texas now for the state registration. An old lady walks into an auto parts store to get parts for her 440 "hemi". Drives me nuts 'cause they never edited it. I hear a lot of non mopar people saying the same thing... "440 hemi huh?-they were awesome!" :wack:

    Dont you hate it when...

My pet peeve amongst mopar guys...."a 360 is better than a 340"....no fighting please. :angel9:

Barn fresh a-body 4 speed PICS

Remember: A bodies survived into the mid 70's to become (don't say pontiac trans am) the last of the muscle cars. A '75 with the cool trimmings? I'd be proud. :wav:

    Where's the 340 crate engines???

Bottom line. The 340 was UNDER RATED and had much better compression than a 360. These are 2 entirely different engines. If you had like components and built up a 340 block and a 360 with the same bores- The 340 is always better. The 340 is the "hemi" of the Mopar small blocks. No hemispherical...

    old cars....update

Nice going ! Glad you liked the 37. The Chrysler? If you want a 400 get it. Otherwise parts cars are common for 500 bucks if you prefer a 413 or 440 instead.

    old cars found

Yeah ! Try to find something YOU want. A 35 ford coupe can be found. You may need to save up and luck into one at a decent price and you won't resent the mopar you put just as much money into at the end....AND you'll appreciate mopars the more....

Anyone else have an a body ute

By the way..is that a 265 6 cyl hemi setup? Something else we should have gotten here. :wack: Oh well.....I guess we all here have to live with our V8 hemis.... :-({|=

Anyone else have an a body ute

Very few UTES here. I've been looking online for auctions and sales but I've only seen a couple for sale. The only ones that ended up here were from transplants or Americans having them shipped over special. Chrysler only made and sold 1 type of what you would call a UTE here. The 1982-84...
