yep. no metal gears available. maybe a slanter with a machining background could make one and sell it.

on a stock slant with stock compression, thats too much carb. since an engine is an air pump, you slant with the stock cam, intake and exhaust, cannot attain high enough air flow to make that carb work properly. even if you adjust jets and needles. you will run into bogging issues on acceleration.

you may want to pull the distributor and check the drive gear. they are plastic and start to come apart when they get old. maybe a few teeth broke off?

where is the grinding coming from. what if you put it in neutral when its grinding to see if something else is grinding and slowing you down. sounds like its time to climb under the car and look around. does it only grind while you are moving? or does it do it with the engine running and parked...

if we have to explain, you will never understand. you order your parts out of a catalog, where as i make mine. but a little fabrication and being different doesnt scare me.

if you dont have the tubes you have to run the gaskets, the reason you pull them off when your running tube heads is the tube acts as the gasket.

you will want to pull your radiator. i usually just unbolt the tranny from the engine and pull just the engine and leave the tranny in place. you will need to put a jack, or block of wood under the tranny to hole it up though. with the slant six, its just too long to do both at the same time. at...

i read somewhere that these are just stright sixes that use the "hemi" name. nothing about the head is like an actuall hemi head. is this correct. they sure look like they have a lot of potential though.

what! how did you find that. thats what i need. the only problem with that would be where it places the blower front to back, as far as the pulleys lining up.

no your seeing the carb wedge plate. it will not bolt to a 4 bbrl manifold.

i put an angle finder on it one day and found that it was off by 2 1/2 degrees. that peice under the blower is just a carb wedge plate, but its 5 degrees, waay to much.
