I've decided to order an AAR fibreglass bolt on hood with hemi scoop for my 68 'cuda. Can someone tell me how and where the front lanyards mount in the engine bay?

Best pic I have at the moment. Do it right and use clips. You wont find the OEM nylon clips but can use a wire spring clip and slide it into the backside of the spear.

I don't have pics but they were a plastic/vinyl clip. I tried sourcing them from various places but found that they are virtually impossible to obtain. I did try 70 Challenger deck lid moulding clips as an alternative (rumoured to fit) but they were no good - no wide enough to keep the spear...

Easy enough to do a little body work and make yourself two cut-outs, as opposed to changing the whole valance. That's what I did.

I'll be needing some new wiper arms for my 68 barracuda FB. The ones I have seen on the net so far are finished in a flat silver. Is this correct? Did any 68 wiper arms come in polished stainless finish (as I believe 2nd generation cudas had), which I would prefer. Cheers

I replaced a lot of the header panel studs on mine that were either broke or free turning as yours are. Once I got grill out of the header panel I pulled it entirely apart (by drilling out the rivetts) and then drilled out the offending studs from the relevant brackets. I then used a new machine...

Well it can only be the weatherstripping - after all the metal vent surrounds cannot have shrunk - or they need adjusting in the door (ie. up further) to sit tighter against the surrounding weatherstripping.

Well, they are smaller than various other bumpers, doesnt mean they couldnt stand a little massaging. Compare a 67-69 bumper with the slim, sleek and snug fit of a 70-74 cuda bumper, and on a larger car. With the exception of one brave sole (sscuda) looks like I'm going it alone here.

I'm only talking about shaving the lower lip, which would take about 1/4 inch out of it. A subtle change, but as I said I feel it would give it a slimmer look and open up the lower area a little.

just curious as to whether anyone here has done some custom work on the 67-69 cuda front bumper. It seems a relatively bulky bumper for the style of the car (compare a camaro or mustang bumper of same era). I've already enlarged the number plate opening to accommodate the longer (and narrower)...

I wonder whether a plasma cutter would provide any advantage over other cutting tools (ie. cut off wheel) in making a custom dash? Would teh cut be cleaner or more accurate? Whilst I have no experience with plasma cutters - but can imagine it would become an invaluable tool once you have one...

Do you mean the upper or lower pivot? To replace the upper pivot you would need to take the whole vent window out (and that means the entire window assembly as well), I would have thought. The pivot bracket is attached to the metal inner vent frame by two rivets, which you'd need to drill out...

You can buy brand new tailight housings (chrome over diecast) for 68 (and other 2nd gen) cudsa, and also stainless decklid trim (originally aluminium) . Also tailight lenses (which have chrome inner insert). I see the aluminium headlight bezels come up on ebay from time to time as well...

I take it from your question that you dont have trunk trim for your 68, and were wondering whether other years would fit. The trunk trim u see on 684mulas' car is, in original form, commonly referred to as "unobtanium" - ie. extremely hard to find. It's made from aluminium, is easily damaged...

I've seen them adverstised by Jim's Auto Parts www.jimsautoparts.com but just took a look and couldnt find them on the site anymore....you could email and ask. I've never bought items from that vendor although I've seen some negative feedback here from members who have.

Mate, no "kits" per se but plenty of suppliers provide trim bits and pieces that will fit a VF or VG hardtop (it's not a coupe...man I hate it when I hear people calling them "coupes"..lol). Just have a look around on the net. Not sure what you mean by "window locks" but outside door handles...

Holes for factory AC are on the passenger side, these holes could not be for any factory equipped purposes.

Perhaps make the trim too heavy and thus prone to coming loose? I gotta tell you, the wire clips I found work perfectly and IMHO are a better option than OEM nylon clips. Everything is snug and tight, but the trim can be taken off readily enough if need be.

From memory, I enquired with RT specialties and they didnt have the OEM clips. Some places suggest using 70-71 Challenger rear deck moulding clips or something similar. I have tried those clips and found them wanting. But by all means check with RT Specialties, I may have my wires crossed.

You'll find that those clips are as much as impossible to find, shane. I went through the same thing with my 68 - searched everywhere and couldnt find them, tried a few other similar nylon clips but no go either. I ended up finding a wire clip from Mr G's that worked perfectly. It's 7/8" wide...

Surf torquiose (LL1?), B5 blue or black. But think out of the square and go for surf torquiose, it's very cool and not common, and the name befits a fish which lives in the ocean. Although I'm very happy with my custom mix blue, I almost wish I'd done my 68 in surf torquiose.

Kinda defeats the purpose of having an aircraft style cap to paint it, so right choice IMHO.
