Edelbrock performer RPM intake...is it right for my engine?

A concern of mine is if I can make that fit with a spacer, and still use a stock air cleaner and not have hood clearance issues. Edit: sorry, i see you were talking to someone else.

Edelbrock performer RPM intake...is it right for my engine?

First I need to know, does the standard RPM intake fit low enough to where I can run my stock air cleaner for my 74 duster 360 and not have any interferance with the hood? Second, is it what I am looking for? I want a dual plane intake that matches my engine top end. is the performer rpm a...

Best way to torque crank bolt

I thought I was suggesting the right tool by a flywheel holder, didn't know they made a dampner holder.

Best way to torque crank bolt

have a buddy hold the flywheel with a flywheel holding tool, and torque the bolt to the factory spec with a torque wrench. Its worth using the right tools to prevent damage to the flywheel, oil pan or whatever else you try to hold a screwdriver against.

any downfalls of a shorty oil filter??

he beat me to it....the short filter is fine but DO NOT use FRAM filters, they are absolute junk. I have always also ran WIX and they are great filters....both oil and air filters. Frams have valve problems bypassing the filter....so basically your oil won't get filtered. And even when...

Demon vs Holley (who do you like best)

Eddy's are not bad carbs I just think there is more tunablity, better response out of a holley

Demon vs Holley (who do you like best)

Holley all the way, I have had one bad experience with demon and have heard of others having issues with the Barry Grant Demons. Quality issues when the carbs are made, like casting sand still inside. Cousin had a brand new Demon on his fresh 360 and it leaked all over his new intake because...

    early heads on roller LA?

yea, im not sure but trying to clearance my heads might be an issue. Since they have had major port work done. I hope they pushrod holes wont be too small. Has anyone else out there actually done this? I wasnt sure why the factory oiled through the pushrods on roller engines also? why not...

    Small block Hemi heads

that hemi head kit was in mopar collectors guide a few years back....I looked it up right when it came out just out of curiousity..... cost between 7 and 8 grand just for the kit....really expensive. Might as well build a REAL 426 hemi if your going to spend that much just on heads.

    early heads on roller LA?

My 360 came from a 90 dodge pickup, so from the factory it was a roller cam engine with swirl port heads. When I went through it the first time I put a regular hydralic cam, lifters, and a set of 79 360 heads on it. I want to put a roller cam back in it. can I still run these heads....I...

    340 vs 360

oh yea, i forgot to mention that, SOME 340s, but not all, had 2.02 intake valves compared to the 1.88s. They were basically the same heads between the 340 and 360 just those few years of 340's had the bigger valves. You can get the 360 heads machined for 2.02 intake valves relatively cheap. It...

    340 vs 360

340s are more expensive than 360's....not because they are better, but more for the reason that they are more sought after by the numbers matching crowd. 360 has 20 extra cubic inches (due to the longer stroke) more 360's laying around .....id go 360

    Slant 6 to 360 Swap

that is a slant six only 904, youll have to find one for a small block. As far as engines go, id rather build my own. mopar sells a 360 crate, that is supposed to be alright but not the most powerful thing ever made. Depends on how much money you want to spend.

Can you use stock rods, with new pistons?

I reused stock rods when i put my 360 engine back together, for street/strip duty they are more than strong enough

    Whats a "U" head?

really? I learned something new, I always thought that J and X were the only two heads on the 340 and 360s

    Oil leak

or do you mean its burning oil on the upper part of the of the header? by the flange? or by the lower part of the header, by the collector?

    holley idle issues

air fuel should be able to be adjusted by puting a vacuum gauge on one of the ports that has constant vacuum on the carb, then screw air fuel screws in all the way then back them out a turn and a half. Keep unscrewing them until you have maximum vacuum, if vacuum starts dropping then your too far.

    holley idle issues

Thanks, Ill keep that in mind and give it a try sometime i go home, every once in a while my carb acts up with idle. Going to buy a book on holley carbs, id like to learn more about them. They didnt teach us about aftermarket carbs or performance tuning with them in autotech haha

    holley idle issues

I see, thanks for the info, my holley dp is an older model. I didnt know quickfuel made bases for them. When the throttle shaft gets too worn it just makes a vaccum leak right?

    holley idle issues

I guess I may not have as much expierience, but ive had better luck with holleys than carters, quadrajunks, or thermoquads

    holley idle issues

is that a common holley problem? I have heard of trouble with throttle shafts before on holleys.

    holley idle issues

I remember a friend having this problem, dont know if he got it fixed or not, he was having trouble figuring it out. why would the primaries open up a little just because the engine temp got warmer, wouldn't it do it when cold too if were just a spring?
