Yeah, if we're counting votes. I'm a bench-seat guy all the way. I'm lucky enough to have a fabulous GF who can't think of a better idea than going for a drive sitting right in the middle, where she belongs. I have no buckets...

Ok, it's gettin close to drivin now. I got a scratch and dent 3 row aluminum radiator off Ebay for 89 bucks. So, who sells the rear floor pan sections? I might just go with some spare flat sheet metal, but I want to keep my options open.

OR a sheet of 18 ga at $50-60, cut off wheel, channel locks, hammer, something slid to beat on, a mig... who need to spend $250 plus shipping on a rear pan? Macon? Surely there is a steel fab shop, scrap pieces would be maybe $20 total?
Tis is a 65 Dart not a 911 Porche!? ha

I thought about that, as we do have a large sheet metal shop going towards Warner Robins. I don't know. I kinda like the idea of a nice factory lookin floor pan too.

Back floors pans are the easiest. The reinforcing ribs are what you will be missing. I have done it on 16 ga, but I don't recommend that, too hard to bend and wok. Factory is 18 ga. If you go to sell, some "purist" can bitch if not factory replacement type, but like some movie actor said once, "I don't really care!!"

...and honestly it really doesn't bother me too much. But this car is in such god shape everywhere else, I kinda want to keep with that theme. It has the potential to be really nice. Not that it wouldn't be with plain sheet metal.....it would, but it would lack some detail. Even if I have to do one side at a time, I think that's how I want to go. It will be less labor and that's what "this old boy" is all about. LOL

I agree it will look professional with the correct repop pans!! Go for it!
I dragged home a 76 RoadRunner last month, good running driving car , had to have the front and rear pans replaced. NOONE repops anything for F bodies. The center part where the seats go is a raised area, and it was perfect. I found a member of an F body site that bought comlete floor out of Az, only just wanted his $ back, as he sold the car and wasn't going to use them. YEP $1000 plus shipping. I only gave $1100 for the car to begin with and restored it might be worth $4000 maybe!!! ha

I polished one of the wheels out tonight. Was a little bit of work, but not bad. I went after it with 00 steel wool first and got all the minor pitting polished out and then came behind it with one of those foam cones from Mothers and some Mothers polish. I think it came out pretty good. Going for the other one tomorrow.

It will save me a lot of work getting the proper formed pans. At this point, saved work means a LOT. LOL The 76 road runners are pretty cool. I had a friend years ago with a Super Coupe. I really liked that car. I LOVE the 75 road runner. Talk about a neglected year.

Slotted mag wheels are a GREAT addition to a car when you are going for a period correct look.

I agree. I used to not like the 73-6 B bodies but as time marches on I find a lot to like about the cars. Those cars and F bodies and even the mid size cars like early 80'scars like the Miradras and Cordorbas are great cars for the young entry level guy. Nice drivers can be had cheap. NO the super copes are not cheap for decent car! Yes those cars also have a pretty good following with the semi old and old timers too.
Did not mean to side track the post!
If RRR wants to make this early A somewhat unique wheel wise, how about a mini light up front and a wide ish steel rim in back? I bet there is no such thing as a SBP mini!??? But RRR might go discs!?? huh?

I don't know. I might eventually. "Whatever" happens, it will remain the small bolt pattern. To me, that's one of the car's trademarks.

Well, I got the transmission out.....again. And guess what? It wasn't that cheap POS throwout bearing. Know what it was? It was ME. I slam forgot to grease the pilot bushing. LMAO. At least it's not been run enough to hurt it. Got it all back together and it's quiet as can be. New radiator will be here tomorrow. Going tomorrow for the tag and apply for a title. Gettin close.

you can use 600 grit and wet sand those rims, then 1000 grit, then mothers polish. You'd be able to comb your hair in them :)

Well, like I told Leanna on Facebook, one, I'm too lazy and two, that's really not the look I am after. I want a sorta "clean brushed" look and that's where it's at now.
