1965 Dart owners thread!

My High School Car turned into a drag car. This car has been in my garage since 1969. Started life as a /6 GT car and has turned into a large displacement small block. At this time it has brodix heads, on an r-3 block which houses a 4" stroke crank. The 904 trans uses an 8" converter which leads to an aluminum drive shaft connected to a dana 60 filled with 4.56 gears. The training wheels are needed most of the time. Best runs, 9.59 @ 138 & change most often it is a 9.60's/70's car @ 137.

New to me 65 GT, 225 with 99k miles. It is original, except a couple of touch up spots from fender benders. It had not seen wax for five or six years, but is in pretty good shape.

In the process of ordering a front end replacement kit. disc brake kit, and going to junk yard or craigslist to find some wheels. Will be looking for AC before summer hits and will need to replace the drivers seat, Florida heat is hell....

Dude I love your car. Everytime I see it I want to go faster and faster! I've got 2 65's one hardtop( drag car ) and one convertible with a 426 smallblock. Going to do a shakedown run at the track before too long on the hardtop.

I just bought a 65 Dart Gt Vert, needs a ton of work but its all there. I will take some pictures and post them soon. Originally red with black top/interior, 225 auto. Thinking of going to a fresh 225 4 speed, but that could very well change.

Mine at a local car show this weekend. Still has the original power train. Original color was black with white vinyl top, and white and gold interior. Now ivory with black. The car made several shows this summer, all with a little more trim. Still have some more to go.
