I have everything ready to put my dizzy back together other than a advance diaphragm.

I am having a hard time finding the correct replacement part number, or one that is going to work as a replacement.

Can someone that has been in this spot before give me direction on my options?

Thanks FABO.

Seems in my readings that Halifaxshop could rebuild the old one.
I have an order ready to push button on front RockAuto and they list a couple that says they are compatible under there search engine but does not specify 4 barrel or Dualpoint.

I guess I should also throw out there that I am not wanting go to crazy in the amount spent as I am not sure she will even run but I think it will.
I believe the car has probably sat for 30 years give or take.

That's going in the wrong direction. Just contact Halifaxhops. If you are looking for one here, start a Parts Wanted Ad.

I understand that Halifaxhops
Will have a solution. I just thought there may be available parts and possibly one that can be shipped with my coming order of several other things.
I am not trying to buy one or start a parts wanted thread.

Those are very sweet distributors. They wear very little. Halifaxhops can rebuild the vacume advance can and all you probably need to do is clean up the points and set the gap. Nothing needs to be done to either advance, it is perfect for a street HP engine.

The advance unit was locked up and it looked like it tried to puke the rotor bug out of the side of the cap.
I have everything nice and cleaned up now and found several old nos condensers. Points look good.
I think this problem is where the car lost its battle 30 years ago.

Looks as though someone tried to make things right under the cap as all the parts look new including the coil other than the decades of dust.

Plug wires are falling off of it.

I did get fire from the coil tower when I flicked the points.

Just hope it has not jumped time.

The prestolite dist is completely different than the Chrysler dist. So if it's not SPECIFICALLY for the prestolite Dual point it probably won't work

Btw you can run it with our vac advance it might not be as crisp off the line etc but will run.

Follow the FSM instructions for gaping the points.yhey can be a bit challenging.

I cleaned up a DP for my 67 273 and it ran great. I had to replace the ground strap but my repair failed almost leaving me stranded.

That's what I am thinking. I am looking for a parts Diagram now so maybe I can cross the factory part number.

Thank you for your response Sir.

I am in the parts diagram now. Had to run out and look at the tag

2444853 is the dizzy number.

Biggest thing to them is having the right amount of advance and the right rate. Watch NOS they have 60 yo rubber in them and usually leak.
