He was seeing the assembly lube and thinking it was not ground down because
the lobes don't look shinny. I suppose? or you are correct? LOL

Out of the box, no shinny lobs

Since I don't know, are you supposed to leave the coating on that it comes with
or wipe it off and put the thick cam lube on it. Because maybe then that's what
he was referring to. MAYBE...I'll shut up and keep lurking which I'm a Pro at.
Sorry to bother everyone

No , sorry if you was offended, truly.
That black coating is a protective coating.

Now to install the radiator, fill with coolant and burp her good, get the intake and carb on and prime the oiling system, set oil gear back in and get her on top dead center on compression stroke.. another day on the hill with my back brace on, and off.

I will see if I can get a video or 3 loaded up with some help from my son soon, I am looking forward to another drive this morning, yesterday's drive showed me the cam selection is victorious @MeMikieJr
Very mutch stronger at a dead stop tromp, and pulls like I lowered the gears, yep mikie is tickled to say the least, I want to thank @Kegan B for the help picking one out for my stall and gears.

great to see you got it back together in plenty of time to enjoy some cruising, go job Mike, Joe
Thank you Joe, yes , took her out and just got back from a five mile drive , now to drain break in oil (Driven 40) out and look at it closely and change filter
Looking forward to some windshield time, 10 miles away and ten back home, check everything, next run will be twice that to a town where the drag strip is at and back (inspect) with a temperature lazer on axels and spindles, hit the trans with it first thing.

You would make Tony Fields very proud
That sure does mean alot, Tony will be on my mind all day now, he sure was a blessing to a bunch of us here, and I enjoyed Thelma and her energy, and her cooking. Counting my blessings as I start my day.

Thank you Red67gts.

Took off to the forest for some fellowship and put miles on my cam and lifters, parked near the band shell and enjoyed 6 hours of musicians and my friends music, great day , I was at a Chevy truck show, so of course I popped My hood when I got there and she had 10 chevy owners all around her asking questions, not a bad bunch of guys in that club. Drummer and guitarist was in one of my band maybe two, 43 year long friendship

Just to update everything and thank all that made this 66 Plymouth my girl friend.

Car show at George Rays Wildcat Dragstrip and removed the restrictive exhaust to a 2 1/2 straight threw mufflers, had those 2" restrictive Walkers on just because I had them , quitting the car so running was easier and could drive it with the 2" first picture, made myself a fan shroud I am very proud of out of a Dodge 100 318 truck, 78 I believe it was.

Video one day soon but I had to retune.. timming and carb after the new exhaust.

I have put 4 60 miles on her, I put a pusher fan on just to cool the engine bay after I parked or incase of stopped traffic.

She feels like a well tuned 440 with the sure grip 2.97 gears, love cruising at 60 at only 2 grand, aftercare inspection here at home on jack stads (u-jounts , wheel bearings, and front end I might have to see how she likes cruising at 85 or 90.
She has been flawless, do drips under her (witch is amazing) no blow by on this 25 year old engine, I did put new lifters, two new rockers and high energy cam shaft Crower lifters, comp cam.
She likes the China knock off Air gap and seald right up.

Thank you all again that helped and made it possible to have owned this 66 Valiant Sedan for well over 22 years now. Hopefully made some of you proud

been fighting rain and hay baler problems but finally finished baling what I had cut today. 168 rolls on 30 acres so really good turn out, Joe
