Painted inside car. I painted it black because I am still unsure of my paint color.
cleaned up pedles and installed. cleaned and installed quater glass regulators and guides. I have a set of HD fiberglass fenders by I think Body source. I did a test fit of the front . they will need a bit of work to mount nicely. the quater glass went in nice thanks to some good pics posted hear on the sight.:prayer:

Thanks for the encouragement everyone. Wow ,Cool Blue I like it. Yea I heat the shop with a wood furnace. I couldnt justify or afford oil....
Ive taken a break this week on the car. I had to work on a friends car, a small side job.. GOTA support the Cuda poject !!! :bounce:

Nice job getting that body straight. Its hard work but when that color goes on and you see the straightness you will be glad you spent the time to do it right. That is gonna be one hot car.

Thanks 340, It will all be worth what ever it takes me.....Finnished my friends car yesterday.

had time this afternoon to assemble and install my steering column.

Had a quiet afternoon, it was a good time to in stall my steering column. It went real well. I wanted to up grade my steering coupler . I saw a page here with the link to a sight that had the correct 36 sline to 3/4 smooth universal steering joint.I I orderd it got it 2 days. After getting all my column parts cleaned and painted I had to get a new shaft with upper and lower berrings. 15 years ago I had purchased new berrings from my local dealer and rebuilt the column,it went into the shed .....wellll mice had used the column for a outhouse and the shed leaked on it. Both berrings froze sollid.:banghead: I wasnt sure how I wanted to fasten the universal joint to my seering shaft.Hmmm I pressed out the hard steel pin from the base of the shaft took a messurment and located the hole for the pin inthe smooth end of the universal joint. I set up a V block on center in the drillpress clamped the ujoint inplace and drilled it in steps up to a #21 drill. I was now able to slide the ujointon the steering shaft and press the pin back in place. The pin fits verry tight  The overall legnth of the shaft has changed,so I put the colum in place. it was easy to see at the steering box the shaft needed to be shortend just under 1 1/4 inch . I pulled the shaft out and taped it on the end lightly shortining it . everything went right togeather..:blob:

ok, I hung the fenders made by stinger. the driverside fender fit well. the passenger side was a poor fit, it had holes drilled in it like someone tried to fit it.
Id hate to think that stinger got it back as a return, and felt that they could resell it....the top edg of fender does not follow the hood arc. well I cant wait for another fender.
I decided to bond in my old fender ribs, this will sturdy up the back edge ware it alignes with door edge. plus it gives me a solid yet adjustable mounting point up by the top door hinge.
I cut and threaded some rod then made mounts for them. these help push on the fender ware the original splash shields pushed against.

tomorrow when the bonding material is fully curred i will bolt op the bottoms of both fenders and tighten up the gaps.

:blob:Really Cool. I finely decided what to build for my motor.
I will use a forged balanced stroker kit from RPM Machine
rated for up to 600 hp. lots of machine work om my 340X heads
port polished. and a holly EFI programmable fuel injection
original 318 block 60 over. motor should make 450 hp conservatively.
ill put a tremic 5 speed behind it, and a 4 link coil over in the rear with 327
gears. A nice driver .

I still cant decide. pearl white w/brilient green stripes up over top, or charcoal grey metallic with mat black stripes. Im used to people telling me what color they want. never do I get to paint my own stuff. This is a tuff choise.
