"1970 Pro Touring Dart Build"

I like the project. I Once had a 340 Plumb Crazy Dart Swinger with the snorkles. It was neat but I liked the Cuda hood you picked up. I put the whole front clip of a 70 Cuda on a 70 Grandcoupe Barracuda back in the 80's to make it look like an AAR. Back then the AAR's were only 10,000 plus........only. That was to rich for me back then, and now!!!!! Go for it, I love Resto Rod's! Keep us posted.

The side of car building that people don't like to show unless they are replacing the panel. I opted to go another route.

Porcupine time!

It went from having 1/2" of mud in spots, to little to nothing now.
Having a good body man is the key ingredient to a successful build.

The goal is the whole car gets primer this weekend.

Looking good Shawn, but wouldn't it have been easier and faster to put your white Reebok against the inside of the panel (I assume you have the glass out) and push the quarter panel out ?

It got a little of the hoof treatment but it really wasn't one of those things you could "pop" out, needed some little TLC.

Dart is in its first coat of primer. No pictures yet, I'll take some next time I go out.

More parts today. I think the UPS and FedEx guys could drive to my house blind folded by now.

Helwig rear sway bar and Eaton leaf springs.
I've never bought leaf springs before, these Eaton 1" drop 6 leaf springs seem to be quality pieces.

Nice work, good job on the qtr panel, you are always better off to keep the factory panels.

I really need to take out the good camera more often.

Back onto the lift to get the rear anti sway bar installed and finish welding up the stuff on the under side of the car.
Then it will go back on the rotisserie for the final body work and paint.

The cell phone is just so much handier for taking pictures.

Man that is one of the best looking cars I've seen so far...And it's only in PRIMER!!! Kudos for repairing the quarter instead of replacing it. I went the same way with mine and I just think it says more for the car to retain more original sheet metal. I work at a collision center and I know that I have seen many more people that can replace sheet metal vs repair correctly. Nice job and I can't wait to see the final product!
