Thats a sharp Valiant! Still undecided on what color i want to paint her tho...I have changed my route on engines however, i have done some talking with Hemidenny about HP/weight and HP/$$ BB vs HEMI and i have decided to build a 400-451 stroker motor backed with a 4spd. I would love to see more pics of your Valiant if you have some

crlush....that Valient is one good looking hot rod....what chu got hiden' under the hood?

Thanks its just a small block (340) built up pretty good by oldschool standards (no aluminumn heads or stroker) but still runs pretty good last year at the strip it went 12.25 on the motor and 11.60 on a 150 shot of nos. :)

Ran outta gas on the welder! :munky2: so i guess i'll get more tomorrow and keep on keepin on, lol Jpe Dirt quote who woulda guessed...got all the holes welded up in the engine bay and ground 95% down, have a few that need some additional welding, lol...when i get the gas it will be a 10 min job max...then imma weld the floor pans, someone put house carpet in the car and screwed it to the floor so ill plug that...then hopefully i can do a frame connector a night...anyhow hopefully i can get gas tomorrow and be on my way

Nice Valiant..

I'm picking up a 75 Scamp that also has a 3 speed on the floor.
Is this odd for a Dart and espically a Scamp?
It's a 318 A/C car

Ok, i've been behind on pictures so here we go! The story is really just removed the old trunk, test fit a new one, POR 15 my frame rails and cut the tubs out for the mini tub. I also welded the tube in place for the 3" relocation kit!

Ok so in 74 with all the safety stuff i ran into a problem with the tube for the shackle, the bumper shock conveniently mounted where i needed to use the hole, so i drilled out the hole for my tube YELLOW arrow and moved it back, drilled a new hole and welded a nut in the frame RED arrow...i will just shorten the bumper shock to size and weld it solid GREEN arrow. Also will press that sleeve PURPLE arrow back and that will ensure a good fit. Hope my arrows arent confusing

You are making real progress. But here is a question I should have asked a long time ago even in chat. I seen where you are doing a mini tub no problem for me to understand.

But how does the spring location work and do you have to move the sub frame?

nothin like a little all-american engineering...right Floyd

looks good!

Cliff
the shackles actually mount in the rear rail, the kit gives you a sleeve you weld into the rail for the shackle as for the front the kit provides boxes you actually cut a triangle chunk out of the rail and weld the box in place for the front spring to have a home

I appreciate it, i feel by "adjusting" the safety bumper i am safer ;D Not a real productive day on the car today, spent my whole day at a buddies house building a 6ft blast cabinet...i got tired of taking parts elsewhere for cleaning...I'll be back at it tomorrow hopefully getting the trunk/tubs semi installed...it was so easy taking them out...

I was always under the impression the 3 speed was a low buck thing, for those who couldn't quite afford a hot rod. But in theory the 318 was probably the biggest motor the scamp came out with so....

So its been a while since ive posted pics so here ya go, 1 wheel tub almost complete- I ran outta gas today!!!:eek:ops:

more to follow
