273 Engine color

We're all 273s 64-69 all painted Red? 2 barrel and 4 barrels. Thanks Dustin
64-68 for sure. I have seen 69 listed as blue on some charts. I used Dupli Color Chrysler Industrial Red on mine. The distributor is the original paint. The oil pan is the Dupli Color.

I have original paint on some parts of my 67 273 that are the same "Red" (looks orange to me) as your dist. I assume over time the red pigment faded and other pigments remained making it look orange?

MyMopar.com says 64-69 273 all were red (P4349218) P4349218 - Genuine Mopar Paint-Engine
Yep. It fades with heat and time. It is a little orange colored. Not fire engine red for sure. The Galen book says blue for 69.

I figured they were all red. Watching dead dodge garage on YouTube he was saying that some were orange and some were red. I said no that's red that's been faded. But he thinks he's always right.

That's impressive!

I assembled a VW motor in my second floor apt in my 20s, but dang!
LOL.....it's a drive in basement. There's also a 70 Challenger A66 car, a dozen or so motors, a pinball machine, 2 jet ski's and a lot of other stuff that makes it look like an airplane crashed in there. I keep the garage door shut unless I'm getting the riding mower in or out, just to avoid an FAA investigation!

My best friend has a B7 A66. Previous owner dressed it up as an R/T, and she hasn't the heart to change it back. (I had good pics, but they disappeared when my last phone died.)

I've owned mine since 79, and a previous owner stuck an RT badge in the grill. Thankfully, that was the extent of it...lol. Mine's FK5, all numbers matching...and most of the bolt on junk is still correct date codes.

My best friend has had hers about that long. We met cruising Valley Blvd in so cal, early eighties, she in her A66 (with her sister) and me in a V8 Vega. Other than the R/T stripe and emblems, hers is all original too. No date code belts or hoses however.
