318 engine issues

'74 Dart with original 318 and carb. 44K original miles. Having issues with sputtering/choking at higher speeds. Right around 70-80 mph engine starts sputtering like crazy. Feels like fuel cutting out.
Causes?
Fixes?

less than a year ago, but not sure of everything that was done.

and in what transmission gear?
and at about what rpm?
if no tach, then what is the rear gear size, so I can estimate rpm.
What elevation are you at?

Might a good guess. Looks like the original filter. Getting one tomorrow. Imay be just mechanically inclined enough to replace it myself...maybe.

3rd gear, factory gearing (2.76), +/-800 elevation...
But may just be fuel filter. Looks like original.

That's what I wanted to be in 3rd grade. Semi-truck driver. Drew a poster of a big green semi truck with flames. Won a blue ribbon for it. Then found out they had filters that needed changing...
