'74 Dart with original 318 and carb. 44K original miles. Having issues with sputtering/choking at higher speeds. Right around 70-80 mph engine starts sputtering like crazy. Feels like fuel cutting out.
Causes?
Fixes?

At what throttle-setting?
and in what transmission gear?
and at about what rpm?
if no tach, then what is the rear gear size, so I can estimate rpm.
What elevation are you at?
Different situations call for different answers.

3rd gear, factory gearing (2.76), +/-800 elevation...
But may just be fuel filter. Looks like original.

You win.
And the one I removed was in backwards. Previous owner - not me!
Up to about 90 and no sputtering. Go figure.
Great job! Who knows? Maybe you'll tackle an engine oil filter or trans pan oil filter next.

Agree on previous owner and backward install. Unlikely that any filter would last 51 years.
