I definitely don’t feel you can compare numbers from different benches as “apples to apples”.

That being said........ the intake numbers look pretty decent...... the exhaust is a little weak.

Is that with the supplied valve job, or after some tweaking?

What did those cost again?

Have they ever tested an ootb RPM head for a SB Mopar, where the numbers could used as a comparison?

Iv'e said it before and I'll say it again. If I don't see 200 PLUS CFM at .300 its not going on any small block I build. I'll sacrifice a little up top (.700 and higher) if I have to.

Heads do not come with valve job.....shop performed 3 angle valve job...no other work

Price for both heads were 1012.00 bare

Pretty good deal I’d say.

When you get them back, if they’re not assembled, I wouldn’t mind a few pics of the new valve job.

Tested on my bench in 8/17, an unported Speedmaster SB head, ootb, on a 4.00 bore was 261/167@.600 lift.

I think John Cadamore had one on his bench at some point as well.

No I never tested a Speedmaster Head. I did a write-up on a set of ProMax and Edelbrock heads and the ProMax head flowed way better and the quality was 10 times better than the crap Edelbrock is shoving out the door now. On my bench my out of the box flow numbers are almost identical to Ryan’s at Shadydale Racing. 243 max flow. I’ve maxed out at 318 cfm with a 2.08 valve so far (stay tuned).

I can't find where/if you specified in that thread, was that with the stock MAXX 171 version or the Shocker 185 CNC version? The ProMAXX site says the 171 will do 254@.600" on the intake and the 185 CNC is at 284@.600". Your result on your bench was in the middle, 264@.600".

that was a stock 171 version. The shocker wasn't released yet back then.

What's the deal with the 63 and 65 cc chambers? Looks like the 65 is a little more of an open chamber design? That small difference in volume won't be much over 0.2 points of compression will it, even with the piston out of the hole a little?

Probably just like Edelbrock offers so you can bolt the 65 cc on a 340 engine and clear the pistons
