I am looking to convert to a serpentine system on my LA 360 build ( I already have to purchase a couple brackets and pulleys - car will be a street bruiser about 400hp to wheels)

Doing research, March Performance seems to be the number choice with CVF Racing popping up. Anything other

Looking at March 40-400-8 and CVF B-360-SERPENTINE-ALT

Differences - March costs about $50 more

CVF - includes and altfan and uses 8 rib belts

Anyone with experience with either? Or should I stay with vbelts

You can get performance ratio pulleys in a V belt configuration. FWIW....

The have the March pulley set up on my E-Cuda. There very old. Only paid like $250 with the PS pulley & all the brackets. Prices aside, what your really looking at is pulley diameter. There looks aside, that’s what there used for. Slowing down the water pump. There is a few HP in this. At your level, it’s probably 5-10hp.

I made the change because my OE pulleies were bent and I was throwing belts at a low 4500 rpm. At the time, I spent less on the March serpentine pulley set up then resto OE pullies.

I can only add that I have CVF v-belt pulley's on my 410, I can't imagine the quality being any better. And after a years use they still shine, no clouding or hazing. Nice pieces.

One consideration of the CFV system and the main reason I would use their basic drive setup is that it has an 18% overdrive to the fan/water pump pulley. The March kits are either direct drive or underdrive, and in my case with the stock type two core radiator, it makes a difference. A good clutch fan and shroud along with circulating water as quickly as possible as per Flow-Coolers instructions makes a whole lot of difference in the summer.

Some good information, I am leaning toward the CVF system now. I will be using a flowkooler hiflow water pump, sounds like these could compliment each other

Thank you very one

Interesting subject and I do not mean in anyway to side track but I was wondering if a serpentine setup up from a magnum engine will fit on a la style engine ? Would be pretty easy to get your hands on that

No. The can get pictures tomorrow of a Magnum serpentine set up and how it doesn’t do well on LA heads as I have LA heads on my Magnum block just to prevent dust and dust. The Magnum set up is on, precariously and ill fitting.

I wish I could use it on LA or W heads.

I like how simple it looks and actually is. With or without PS.

We (blueprint engines) partner with cvf. Great stuff. Here's a link to both the v belt, and serpentine systems. Kind of a "simplified" offering.

Appreciate the business as a sponsor if ya end up going that route.
Good luck with the project either way!
