I love the old school oil pan mod. It looks like it was done very well.
me too i tryed to keep it as much mopar as possible i thank it will be a fire breathing dragon lol cant wait to here it run there saying it will be ready to flog the dyno on monday:clock:

first fire of thhe engine dyno will be in few days have to work out bugs like leak on carb and new holley running fat leak on head bolt and new mopar orange box bad out of box so we will no some numbers soon but here is a tease [ame="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iktz_mXUn4o"]YouTube - Nov 29, 2010 21:13[/ame]

i think about 510 with the changes you made should be nice now lets hear the #####s

here it is you all [ame="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Y0vLauqoW8w"]YouTube - Dec 1, 2010 22:28[/ame]

I just finished reading this thread and I see you just posted the numbers on your motor. Very nice!!I have almost the same motor in my cuda' very fun to drive. What car is it going in?

With peak HP at 5100 and peak TQ at 4500 you can tell there is more to be had in tis egine. With such a short spread between the 2, only 600rpm, the engine is flat out starving for air on the top end.

Nice torque monster for the street. And down the road if you upgrade to better flowing heads with bigger valves, you should se a 50hp bump easy.

Does that guy know how to operate a dyno? It sounded like he had a load on the engine all the way back down to idle?

On the other pull it seemed that he loaded the engine AFTER he was at the upper RPM Range?

Maybe I am trippin....

maybe not trippin at all im not an engine builder the guy that was standing to the side was the one that did the heads his brother did the block work all i know is they have tons of tropys from wining races and the brother that did the block seemed to be a stickler for getting thangs rite it took them close to 6 months to get it done they went as far as haveing smithbros make the push rods and they knew they would be doing the dyno so i thank they did a good job on the build they wouldnt want to see there work explode on the dyno lol the guy running the dyno who knows maybe he didnt know what he was doing but they called him in to run it the guy that owns the dyno just set it all up mabe the guy running the dyno has everyone fooled lol

The large cubes will require more cam to get a lope...

That is a fairly mild cam for a 496 CID... Are you sure the lift numbers are correct? For a cam with ~240*@.050 I would expect lobe lift numbers to be in the .330-.350 range (.495-.525 at the valve). the 1.6 rockers will help you some there

The 114* LSA is also going to smooth the idle out...

I don't think you will have very much lope in your engine.... But hop much lope is "enough"

Same as he said, bump up the compression to use a bigger cam

well here is an update wanted to tell you all thanks for your help i went with the biger valves on the heads and let the builder deside on carb, intake, and cam so he is putting in comp cam .540 lift holley 950 4150 hp street and eddy victor intake on another note i had the eagle crank and rods balanced from DYNO-FLO on ebay and the shop i have it at says it was way off and didnt charge me to fix it and i beleave the guys because they have to dyno the 496 stroker when there done with the complete long block build so it will be turn key engine when there done cant wait
