64 DART 4 way flasher wiring

I just bought This NOS 4 way wiring for our 64 Dart. The ad said it was for a 63 I thought that 63 and 64 wiring was the same. The one I got has straight connectors and the car has bullet type connectors and the connector housing is a little wider. The number on the wiring on a tag that wraps around the wiring is 2291744 ???? anybody know what I have?

Flat connectors through '63. Box-and-point connectors starting in '64. This what you bought will fit right into a '62-'63 A-body, but you'll have to do some hacking if you want it to fit your '64. You'd need to get the male and female plastic housings (one of each, as in your picture) from a '62-'63 car. One would be at the end of the turn signal switch wiring, the other would be its mate under the dash. Then remove your '64's housings, cut off the box-and-point terminals, install the flat terminals, install the wires with flat terminals in the housings, and then you can install this hazard harness in your '64. Alternatively, install a '62-'63 turn signal switch that already has the flat connectors, leaving you in need of changing only the under-dash connector. And, um, finding the switch those flying wires are supposed to attach to! :shock: Alternatively, see here.

Thanks Dan for that useful information. Now what to do sell it and try to find the correct one not likely .I checked parts voice with the correct # for 64 and the vendor wants 350 . I do have another 64 parts car maybe I could take the wire ends off it and try to figure how to wire it onto the wiring I bought that way I wont have to cut wires on the car. I do have the 4 prong switch frim a 65 Dart. Dosent a flasher have to be installed in there somewhere. I think Im going to need a wiring diagram.

And I wonder if 64 65 and maybe 66 take the same wiring connectors

Gonna be ugly. Just buy new terminals (Delphi 297-3915). You can use the plastic housings from the '64.

Yup. Probably piggybacks on the switch.

Well I found and bought one on e-bay for a 67 Chrysler it looks the same hope it works. Then I can sell the one for the 63 model FOR $20.00
