65 barracuda gas fill issue

I'm considering going with this:

Mopar A-Body Dart Valiant Duster A-body flip top gas cap adapter | eBay

But I would need to buy the flip top cap assembly to use with it. There are several original and reproductions available, is there a specific one that this works with? Are there differing bolt patterns?

Edit: Just found a thread on this from the manufacturer. He says most common cap people use is '67-'68 Charger

Well, it wouldn't be a '67 Charger as they didn't use one. The '67-9 Barracuda and '68-70 Charger is what you would want. The '67-8 version has a smooth, plain cap. The '69-70 version has the word "FUEL" cast into it. Same bolt pattern for all of them.

This is such a common problem, but I found this very interesting on my 1976 Dart Sport.
It has the fold down rear seat option and this is the filler tube.
It has a big bend to allow the fold down panel to lay flat.
The angle down is quite steep.

I've tried the reducer thing that you can put in the filler tube, but that didn't make much of a difference.

What I found out works is using a rag and wrapping it around the spout. Just loosely and just once around. I've tried paper towels, but they don't work that well. Shop towels can be ok, but with the rag you won't have a drop on your paint. And you can re-use it.

Will this fit a 72 Dart? Does it stop the gas from puking out the filler when gas'n up?

I don't see why it would not fit.
On the Dart I have I do not see any gas stains on the quarter.
I have not driven it yet, so I have any info to tell you.

Don't know yet, but there are no gas stains on the quarter.

That's a good sign. I had thought about modifying mine similar. In fact I bought a used fill tube to modify for my 66 which had a real issue. My Swinger isn't bad but because of shiny paint, I am real careful to shut the nozzle off when I hear the gas getting close to the top.
